The first week in using my ecig I started thinking wow this could be big. Real BIG! So started thinking hey I should invest in these damn things. I just need to start research on who or what company would be the best to put money on. I really haven’t done any investing other than 401k and such so you could call me a total noob at it.

I was thinking about Ruyan since china court just ruled in their favor on a patent. Is anybody investing in them or investing in ecigs in general other than the ten different types they have bought trying to find the perfect one? I want to be smart about this and I know it can be a gamble when they could be banned but I know they will come back if they do.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

I have thought about it, but, frankly, I haven't sat down to do any research. My problem is I don't feel like I have a sufficient knowledge base regarding the nitty-gritty (like manufacture, patents, shipping, etc.) to really make an informed decision to invest in any significant way.

Well, that and I've been too lazy. :D

There is also the problem of who would you invest in. The Chinese manufacturers, the patent holders, the larger suppliers?

I'm not even aware of any publicly traded suppliers.

The market is still in it's infancy so at this point in time you probably have to go the route of becoming a private investor. Far too risky for most people.

Sounds like me LOL. I’m wanting to find out who the main manufacturer is and research them. I think its Ruyan but I’m not sure. Also I did hear of a manufacturer building a plant here in the states but I don’t know anything about it yet or even if its true.

Interesting

I was thinking about the manufacturer but like I said I’m a total noob at investing. I probably wouldn’t want to invest enough to become a PI.

I would think this through. With all the shipping problems and FDA issues i would hold out you could lose alot of money if the worst happens. Such as a ban in the US or shipments being seized. 8-o

Bans would be a big concern but if I wait till they become mainstream I would think the stock would have gone up a lot already. I do believe that even if a ban happens they would have to lift it sooner or later (hopefully sooner). My main concern is big tobacco. I’m worried they would be able to “snuff out” ecigs.

Pun intended

Funny stuff. I'm not sure HOW to invest in Ruyan, since it's a Chinese company. But, we could learn ...

I won't be investing during the present uncertainty. If I were, I'd buy Philip Morris stock. Don't laugh. They have the Aria inhaler and they've done their homework. Plus ... never put all your eggs in one basket, such as one e-cig maker. PM has its cigarettes, recently invested in smokeless by buying other companies, and could market an e-device if and when it desires. Diversify or die. PM has done that.

Just a thought, though. My money stays in bonds.

Look at what Jeff at Janty is going through. Somebody lost money on that deal, not to mention the psychological drain.
Then, what if a few months/years down the road it is found that vaping causes brain tumors, attacks the immune system, accelerates alzheimer's, (doubtful, but who knows) someone is gonna get sued. And knowing lawyers and the USA legal system, I don't want to be an investor.

Ever see Steve Martin in The Jerk? He invents some thing for eye glasses, it makes people go cross eyed, he gets sued and goes broke. Lawyers/governments smell money, watch out citizens.

Hey, what was the name of that thing he invented? I don't have a copy of that movie and now I have to know.

Not that I am a specialist, however, there are so many products out there and so many different type of vapers, that if we could open up an outlet, that carries many many different products from a variety of suppliers

How many diff 901'a are there? and super's and on and on, I know in my area North Carolina, to set up a kiosk in some mall, you gotta have a variety.
To go on line, we would compete with SOOOO many that you would get lost, unless we had a variety of products,
how much money would it take ot get started??

I have found a few suppliers ofcourse in China, that would sell most of the cigs at under $20.00 per kit, the on line sites are at $49.00 to $69.00 and the ones with huge balls are at $150.00 like Smoking Everywhere, ( and they really suck )

I would be one to throw some dollars to get this off the ground, this industry has bot yet begun to fly yet. Especially if it helps people quit or atleast cut down
I haver completely stopped for 4 months, from 3 to 4 pks a day, I smoked forever
I also, think that to find the right super high end liquid at 36mg PLUS would be a great seller

Some really great posts guys! I would think the safe way would be to wait this FDA thing out but I think once (if) it happens the whole lid will be blown off of this and it will almost become a household name. I guess you really need to take some risks but I sure wouldn’t play it all on the first spin.

Bob, Yeah I don’t know how or if I could even invest in some of these companies but we all should start looking into it. I didn’t know that about PM. I have been wondering if the big T would get on board and try and make a buck. Hell it could be a way for them to clear their name some what by offering a safer way.

To answer your earlier question, it was supposed to be Njoy that was opening a manufacturing plant here in Texas. Haven't heard anymore about it and can't remember where I heard it to begin with.

Now why do you think they would try it here in Texas? Hmmm...it wouldn't be a huge supply of workers that would work for next to nothing now, would it? One ICE raid and the place would be empty in a heartbeat. Hey, they had a mfg. plant for that peanut company with the salmonella problems running here and our legislature didn't even know it was here. Go figure!

Ha thanks for the info. Njoy was definitely one I was thinking about investing in because they seemed to have the best marketing going on but I figured theirs where made by someone else and they just put their name on it.
