I think it was a ridiculous comment trying to justify the fact that the ipv D2 is not firmware upgradable. It's not like anyone would force his upgrade-adverse customers to upgrade if the option was offered and they didn't want to.

In general it's a pretty horrible product intro, anybody
If they have continued their Design feature set, it is Spring loaded and the Slot is for air flow on Bottom open devices. Yea, a few still exist - lol

Cool, I'll be able to use my Kanger EVods again...I knew this would be a great device.

Thanks for the video storm, saves everyone here from my ramblings.

The one I have is marked "test" but feels like this is the final version…here's one difference, the battery sleeve pulled out from the top in the Pioneer For You video, this one rides on rails and pulls straight down, much more secure IMO.

Not much I can say, the video covers it…what I will say is it's a pretty slick little device that seems very well built with a solid YiHi chipset that definitely makes this mod a winner at it's price point.

I just ordered some titanium wire and will post once dialed in.

My local vape shop owner hooked me up, he only got 2 of the 50 he ordered with the balance due any day this week.
Why did he only receive 2? Stupid p4u. They haven't shipped the whole order to 101 either. They said they will post the date the manufacturer sends it to them. Which means it still has to come from china then to us. Couldn't that be like two weeks or more then?

The 2 units my local vape store picked up were the test units, this shop moves loads of product so the distro passed them on as a courtesy, these test units were sent to a few reviewers and distributiors to do with as they like...the distributors and brick and mortar shops will be receiving what they ordered probably by weeks end, I don't think P4U did anything stupid here.

Good review, with 1 exception. I feel he unnecessarily attempted to play down the value of the SX Mini M Class.
Clearly the D2 is a well designed mod for the TC intro market but that has little to compare to the SX.
I'm sure I will enjoy using my D2 but it will take nothing away from the SX and the rest of the low end TC market has not peaked my interest at all.
YIHI

Care to elaborate on the differences between the chipset in the D2 and the SX ? :D

The SX Mini costs a lot more - that's the real difference IMO. I'm not knocking the SX Mini M Class, it's a great mod from what I've seen. Well constructed, quality materials, great temp control, the the whole package. I'm just not prepared to drop $200 for it.

Ehh, i've either had or tried pretty much every TC device out there, and the SX Mini is a noticeably better vape then all of them. Especially if/when you prefer to go over the 400 degree mark (which i do), where others seem to struggle with actually reaching the target temp.

I had a friend who vapes strictly Kanthal basically tell me something along the same lines the other day. 30w is 30w, so why spend anymore then the $20 it costs to buy his Kbox. Let him hit his dripper on both that, then my Sx immediately after. Again, there's a difference.

That's without even going into the difference in build quality (being an IPV, i have no illusions the D2 i have coming is going to still be kicking strong as ever a year from now), or additional chip features i don't really utilize that much but others might.

The Eco mode is pretty win too.

So we should receive our units sometime next week most likely? Fair enough. Seems like someone is finally giving a real concrete answer and hopefully everything is mostly bug free.

I certainly hope so - but that's what I get for being impatient and dropping a pre-order.
