Right, I don't see an Aug 7 postponement on 101 either.
Aug 7 seems to be the date mentioned by @TheotherSteveS but I believe that caused some confusion because later he mentioned he pre-ordered it from a different supplier (not 101Vape). 101Vape still shows Aug 1 at the moment (although with an 8/2 ship date from P4U).

You mention not being satisfied by TC but then you go on to mention devices that are pretty horrible at it. Don't expect to be amazed with it.

What’s the basis of your judgment of one or more of my TC boxes (since you didn’t specify) as “pretty horrible” at Temp Control? Do you own them? Have you used them? Or is this just opinion gleaned from cherry-picking negative reviews or forum posts?

The Sigelei TC75 has garnered glowing notices so far. Opinion about the SnowWolf is more divided, but many reviews have been positive. Even the simple little iStick TC40 is receiving praise. Only the Dovpo TC50 comes up short in online opinions.

But even if only one of my current TC devices passed muster for you, then that would be enough to give me a feeling for what the technology can do. Or is it your opinion that only Evolv or SX Mini owners get a valid TC experience?

Haha no worries. Seems the waiting game continues as many of us expected - although I'm certainly eager to receive it since it will be my first TC mod.

I cancelled my 2 preorders. I need the USB charging port in a such portable device.

What's the fuss I'm hearing about this lack of USB charging (or overly complicated as Mike Vapes puts it)? Unless I missed something, this will charge off any standard USB charger. The only that's different is that it has a DC jack rather than a micro-usb jack. A DC jack should be more durable anyway.

Are we sure about usb charging ? Not that it matters as I always charge in a charger but I just seen a review from vapenw and it shows that it does come with a usb charger. I just could not help myself and went and ordered a sigelei 75 to compare it with when I get my D2, not like I need anymore temp mods anyway.

From what I can tell from the various reviews (including the ones from VapeNW) it comes with a USB cable but not a USB charger that you would plug into the wall.

But not this:

On another note, (btw I've read this entire thread and watch what I think is all the available first looks and reviews), has anyone noticed no stealth mode? Did I miss it or it doesn't seem to have it?

The one his shows is a usb on one end (that would plug into a wall socket), and something like a 9 volt kind of end that plugs int the D2.

Wall sockets are not USB. You need a USB to AC wall socket adapter. The output voltage and amperage on these types of adapters can vary. According to the IPV D2 user manual the unit requires an input voltage of DC4.5v - DC5.5v / 1A. I think the point that Mike Vapes was trying to make is that you need to make sure that you get a USB to AC wall socket adapter that meets those specs and that it would have been nice if P4U had included one (because they didn't - you can see that from the various unboxing videos that are available, including VapeNW's).

Ok. Standard USB specs are 5V. This means that pretty much ANY USB adapter can be used. Anything for iPhone, iPad, Android phones, USB hubs, car USB jacks, etc etc etc.... If you don't already have dozens of them like me, go to your favorite online retailer and type "USB adapter". You can even plug it into your computer although it will likely only provide 0.5A which will make it charge very slowly.

What you SHOULDN'T do is take your 9v wall wart and plug it into the device.

Ok. Standard USB specs are 5V. This means that pretty much ANY USB adapter can be used.

Look at this web page on Apple USB power adapters for a good example: Apple - About Apple USB Power Adapters

The Apple iPhone chargers have an output of 5v / 1A - that will work fine with the USB cable provided with the IPV D2 as it is within the specs published by P4U.

The Apple iPad chargers have an output of 5.1v / 2.1A - although the voltage is within the range of the IPV D2 as specified by P4U, it has way more amperage than specified and it exceeds the charging limit of the type of 18650 batteries that it uses. I don't know if the IPV D2 limits this higher amperage, but if it doesn't it could damage your batteries and possibly result in an explosion (the specified standard charging current on a Sony VTC5 is 1.5A for example).

Personally, I use an external charger for my batteries and I will stash the provided USB cable away as soon as I get it because I will never use it.
