So now that lots of people have been using these for a bit, how is the battery life in temp mode? I vape about 10 mL a day.

Very subjective question:
Vaping 380F/18J will last considerably longer than
Vaping 550F/50J

TC is no different than VW in consumption. what you think you might save in Off time might be used up by taking longer comfortable draws.

I use a 7ml tank and get 1.75-2 Tanks on my Samsung R25's running
415F/23J
A Day - depends on overall power used per vape and # of vapes taken;)

Hi all!

I've just received my brand new IPV D2 this morning, and I've been toying with nickel setups both in a RTA (Trident v2) and Aerotanks.....

Yes, I've made my own nickel coils for Kanger Aerotanks, just wrapping Ni-200 AWG-30 over two fibreglass wicks, and it works just fine.

But the thing about all this, the one which explains the quote, is that with all the tests and vapes, I've drained off about 12 mL of e-liquid, with a single freshly-charged Efest 2500 mAh......

Go figure!....:thumb:

Most of the vape has been at 20J/180ºC (I'm in Europe, sorry!, that's about 356 ºF) over the Trident, wicked with cotton.

My D2 arrived yesterday from Origin Vapes. First thing I will say is this company has TOP NOTCH service. They went above and beyond in getting me the D2 shipped out fast so I could get it before my trip to Aruba. So, highly recommend them if you are looking to buy this device.

Second -- this thing is SMALL - not as small as say the original Vaporshark rDNA30 -- but smaller than the 40s and with more power. I didn't think I'd like the silicone sleeve, but it fits nicely on the device and improves the overall feel when holding the device. And the black looks sleek, unlike the ugly neon-like sleeves I've gotten for my vapor sharks.

Been running my Crown on it all day and it is vaping like a champ. Easy to adjust, although I find the timeout too fast when you are trying to navigate with the buttons. But, it does what it's supposed to in a small form factor. I did notice the ohm reading was a few points off, but nothing to really complain about. Using my .5 coil, so when I go back to the .25 SS I will see if it can give it enough power. One thing that is nice is that you have the manual temp setting -- which is good here because other devices (like the SNow Wolf) automatically go into temp mode with SS coils.

Overall great small lightweight device with more power than I thought. Definitely recommend for the price too.

Hands do the YIHI's SX350J m class is better than the ipv d2. But I do believe that the ipv d2 is awesome but it's not a fair comparison because of the price. The SX350J is a solid work horse and it's built solid. For the price I would buy the Ipv d2 as a backup but if I could only buy 1 no doubt YIHI SX350J MINI M CLASS.

My buddy has had the Ipv d2 since they for at least 3 weeks and loves it I think your gonna be happy with it for the most part. Like I said I wouldn't compare it to the YIHI's SX350J but for $50 bucks from 101vapes it's a solid purchase. I've personally never heard anything bad about 101vapes other than not getting your purchase when there is a good deal before everyone else buys them all I believe their a good site. I haven't had to deal with their customer service so I'm not sure what that's like but other than that if you see something you want on sale from the site buy it before it's sold out.

On twisted wire I do mine by hand with a hooked probe (like a punch only sharper, hooked & with a handle) & locking forceps. Here are some simple instructions for making twisted wire & Clapton coils.

TWISTED
Take a piece of wire at least 10 inches long bend a 1/8 inch length of the ends back against its self.

Crimp those ends together with the forceps

Put the hook in the apex of the loop you now created

Use the hook to twist the wire until either end starts to over twist the wire (it's easy to tell when & after you have done it once or twice you get a feel for when you're finished twisting).

*after about my 3rd or 4th time I could get it done in about 5 minutes.

CLAPTON (takes me much more than 5 minutes)

2 sets of locking forceps

Take the wire you plan on using as your inner length of wire & bend both ends 1/8inch back on to it's self.

Lock each end in opposing forceps

Find a way to secure each set of forceps(I use 2 vices I'm sure there are easier more convenient ways but this is how I do it).

Twist your outside wire around the wire you now have secured in the forceps like you would a regular coil around a screw driver, drill bit or rod.

Cut ends & wrap coil.
Bro not sure if someone mentioned this but I found a similar way with a regular drill a clamp and then take a fishing swivel put it in the clamp and do your clapton coils like that.

Im using about 2.5 per day and thats using the D2 exclusively. I have been using it all the time for reason. It could be because the board vapes as good as my SX350 and is super tiny :)

Yes, kind of sad. I normally don't/didn't but I am off with an injury that keeps me from doing much of anything, except ECF and Vape. Pain keeps me going 18-22 hrs a day.:(
Fortunately, yes I DIY and buy in bulk so, Super cheap.

101Vapes have been good to deal with. I have had good experiences with them so far. They have been around awhile now so they must be giving good customer service to the people.

I got a new D2 from the classifieds this week.
A little baby powder in the sleeve and it slides right on/off.
Size & form is perfect and hell yeah, it's a YiHi chip :thumb:

I have some Kanger nickel OCC coils that I wasn't fond of and decided to give them a second chance.
I tried them at 30j/420 and meh, bumped to 30j/450 and it's not bad.

I can feel the cycling and that doesn't bother me but methinks it's doing like 5x the work that way.
I'm no 'lectrician but it seems that would accelerate it's demise.

Anyone using Ktech ni OCC's in your D2? What settings?

Anyone here an electronics guru? Would the temp cycling kill the electronics sooner than power mode?

Thanks

Try 455-460/26-28J It should smooth out.

Balance is a bit tricky at first.
All TC use power management so..............
I don't foresee any real problems, hopefully.

I heard the best bang for your buck is the new IPV LI I'M not positive but I think you can get it for about the same price and I think it hits 200watts

Li is 2x the price of a D2:facepalm:

D2 75w
Li 165w
Dual Battery vs. single
Big package vs. compact
