Hi guys have had the ipv mini v2 for about a month now and haven't had a problem thus far but my battery cap is now stuck and it won't budge at all I don't remember over tightening it at all only until it catches but it just won't budge :/ I've tried everything using rubber hands, pliers even wearing merigolds because they have a lot of grip but nothing :/ can anyone suggest anything?

Sounds like thread damage, which usually results from cross threading.

Sadly an attempt to remove with Pliers may be needed.

WARNING!!!!! -- The section the cap threads into is a small threaded ring held in place by (2) pins. To much pressure could snap those pins and permanently damage the mod.

Using a pliers is gonna possibly damage it even more. Ive had mods and tanks stick and nothing i have done has loosened them, including using a vice and vice grips.

Ive had some bad luck with sseizing/gulling im just happy it isnt my Mini2. Thanks for letting this problem be known, now i need to be extra careful.

This is one of those - Nothing to loose instances - Battery cannot be removed otherwise.
Pliers will damage the cap, but not the threading. The threading is above the grip point and internal to the ring.

Both parts may be removed at one time - if replacement parts are on hand and a knowledge of simple soldering.

1) Remove any tank attached
2) Confirm unit is off
3) Lay unit on its side, screws up, on a towel
4) Remove (2) side Screws
5) Carefully lift off Units side cover
6) Lift cap/ring from lower pin and carefully work loose from battery
7) Remove Battery and place aside
8) De-solder Cap ring from ground wire
Reverse to Assemble
:D

I know it isnt the best thing to do, but why not just charge it with the USB. Ive had to do it and must say it charges pretty fast and discharges the same as if i used a reg. charger. Batteries get some like 300 charges before the start going bad. This way instead of wrecking your mod you can use it for aawhile, while you look for a new 1.

Can somebody bring me up to speed on the aversion to using onboard chargers? When ever I see a mini usb port I gotta plug it in! I have only removed my battery to clean out the sawdust and pocket lint

My opinion only.
Just because they Can include a USB port does not mean it is the best charging solution.
Dedicated chargers are more effective at safely charging a battery.
A battery is heated as it charges and external charging allows lower charge temperatures.
External charging reduces added stress on the Mod extending overall life expectancy.
A power surge which may total a Charger and/or Battery will leave the mod unscathed.

Traveling......what the hey.........USB is convenient. :)

Thanks for the info! I think I may change my practices when I get something not so easy to replace. For this item I would hate to .... up my battery cap. In my eyes its a 60 dollar component.

Royal Purple is a terrific lubricant. I've also heard putting the stuck item in the freezer works.

If you were to put it in the freezer take it apart and pull out the battery first.

Even if you get the cap off this really sounds like a cross threading issue and if you've damaged the threads that bad it might be shot. Not sure if p4u might have replacement parts you could get or not.
