I do not like the slick batt cover on the v2, so I swapped my nicely knurled v1 cap over to the v2. Love the black screen, and I swear when set at the same wattage setting as the v1, this v2 is a lil better! Now I gotta get a new wrap again! I like the SX330 chipset much better, with the fastforward on wattage and them dropping things like the mobile and pwm. Still wish in an emergency "need to vape" situation that it would do passthrough, but I've read the SX330 doesn't do passthrough!

They didn't get rid of anything. Two different chips = two different animals. Also, the thread title is incorrect as is the thought this is a Version 2 of the original.
The IPV mini is still in production and selling well to those looking for 30w mods.
This is the IPM Mini2 and comes in 2 versions.
Standard retail piece and Limited 2015 Year of the Goat Edition.

* IPV puts out lost of Advisories - Called CYA - Not necessarily accurate.
Then again, this is the internet so it must be true.

Semantics! Both chips are manufactured by YiHi, and they chose not to program this feature into the new chipset, thus I said "dropped things like mobile and PWM".

I have also found conflicting information regarding pass thru on this device with some sites saying it is a feature of the SX330 and others just not listing it at all! I have written Pioneer4You for clarification! Hopefully their email response is easier to comprehend than their manuals! LOL!

iPV mini II, iPV mini 2, or iPV mini v2... you'll find it labeled either of these ways online. Stay frosty!

Like the looks of those VS wraps but they're pretty proud of em. Not sure I can justify the cost just to jazz it up a little.

Costs too much??? Really???
They're only $18 and they have a 15% off code of: 15OFFNOW... so only $15.30 after discount.
A single bottle of e-juice averages $13???

$18.55 with shipping, including the discount. Pretty expensive for what it is, but I may order one in any event!

Yeah. I guess $18 is different to different folks and budgets. Personally I piss $20 off easily... way too easily!

My main reason for the wrap I had on my mini v1 was that it was too slippery (silver) and I justified the wrap cost because one wrong slip could mean a busted tank/atty or worse yet a broken mod!

The mod is $65, so $18 for a wrap on it is more than I am willing to pay. To each his own. The 15% discount is nice but I'll live with stock color at that price.

You must have the Black and not the "Slippery Silver" mod.

As you said to each his/her own... I call the $18 cheap insurance against dropping the mod and atty. 18<65 and 18<30!

Just tried it and I get the same ... good catch. Relayed this information to the vendor I purchased from to see if P4U gives them a response. Either the IPV Mini v2 is using a 130 with new firmware or a 330 with modified 130 firmware.

Ok........here's a funny story. I just ordered this today from vapenw. I ordered black. An hour later, they call me and tell me black is out of stock, so I agreed to silver instead. So, I may end up eating my words about getting a wrap if the silver's as slippery as you say. Although.....I already started looking around on ebay and there are much less expensive wraps out there. Not sure if the quality is on par with vaporskinz tho.

Same here... what made you try inserting the batt while holding the FIRE button? I am concerned over this... do we really have the sx330, or the 130 V7.0???

Does anyone out there on the interwebs do autopsies on vape products like they do with other devices? That would be the only way to know!

All devices with yihi chips have this feature.

Opened mine up:
Cannot read the Board info because it is mounted Top Down in the main cradle. I cannot say exactly which chip it is, but I Can tell you what is is NOT.
It Definitely is NOT a SX130 Chip.
This board has a Massive core/coil directly behind the Display.
The board is Packed Tight in the mod, Wires are respectably short. No BS Hot Glue and the Components do not move.
My opinion of the Mod build quality - 9.5

Sorry, no pic - to many people/Kids causing Kaos in the same room:facepalm:

* Most plausible answer to the Boot reading is it is displaying the Firmware version. There is no reason it has to Specify Manufacturer and if the 330v2c is exclusive to IPV(P4Y) this makes sense.

Just food for thought... The Sig 50 VR2 and the IPV Mini 2 are said to have the same SX330 chip. However the IPV has the 5 memory settings option but the Sigelei 50 has no such feature. The IPV appears to have the same memory feature as the SX130 chip.

Leads me to think it's the SX330 chip with upgraded SX130 firmware.

Thanks for that info!

But I really would have liked to see photographic evidence!
Although I feel your pain...
