Awesome. I like my STmini quite a bit more than my OG Subtank. The rba in the mini is especially nice.

No on the MXJO, they are 20amp continuous, 35amp pulse. They just market them in a misleading manner. Plus MXJO doesn't actually make battery cells, they are likely rewrapped LG batteries, they are rewrapped something that is certain.

Stick with your VTC4s, or if you want higher mah, go for a Samsung 25R, or LG HE4 they are about the best high drain 2500mah 18650s available right now.

Sony VTC, LG and Samsung are all I use nowadays. I have 5 but I'll have to get a couple more. The Sony are industry standart, and inexpensive, so get yourself a couple! Mine have been around for the past 2 years, so it's a good investment.

I saw those on Alibaba too, right before I placed my ipv mini 2 order. It'd be cool if Eciggity sent ya one when they get them, for pointing it out to them :toast:.

I simply put a skin on mine, goes all the way to the border and improves grip. You can also cut it out like the SX mini and no one will tell the difference.

Yeah, I saw that after the fact, forgot where I was.

Lol, oops ipv mini II, heh. In that case you definitely want to stay the heck away from the pannys, and go for either HE4s, 25Rs, or HE2s. In that order for best battery life. VTC4 isn't such overkill, but still not needed.

Max input current on the mini II is 25 amp IIRC, so the 2500mah 20amp continuous/35amp max discharge batteries are still good to use. Just get real ones from a legit battery vendor.

Might be an overkill, but 2 for 18 bucks is a steal! Cheaper than the LG, I've bought for almost 11 bucks. I have a Sony and will continue with them!

Hopefully the ones eciggity gets have the correct cutout for the screen.

I messaged the vendor you linked on alibaba and they wanted $50 shipped for 10, not bad, but the screen cutout wasn't right so I didn't bother.

Yeah…it does look like it's more square than it needs to be in the photos. But at the same time, if you look at where the buttons are positioned and how big they look in relation to the screen, it seems like it would be the right size. I almost wonder if it might be a bad photoshop job on the photos, since they would have had to have used the actual mod to make the mold it looks like.

If and when they get them, hopefully it will be right one way or another.

They had to have known about them before I pointed it out, I'm sure the guy was just being nice. :)
You will like the IPV mini 2. It's a neat little mod, I've been really enjoying mine.

I've been digging around all day but can't find anything, maybe one of you guys will know:

Has anybody put the Mini v2 device on a scope/volt yet? Is it basically the same as the chip in the IPV 2? If so, which chip between the 2s and the 2x was ever shown to be better/ more accurate?

It's time to upgrade from my Mini v1 but given that Asmodus is no longer repairing either device, I really want to be sure of what i'm purchasing.

Have mine in hand. Been vaping on it for about 2 hours.

Okay, first the skinny.
This is exactly like the Mini 30 on the outside, except they figured out what BLACK is and mine has a Goats head on it. Bezel is Bklack not Chrome.
Came well packaged, just like the Mini 30w.
Even had Mini 30w instructions in the Box. Had to do a double take and make sure I hadn't been ripped.

Function:
Same 5 Memory slots
7w - 70w - SORT OF
No PWM or DC-DC selection
No Mobil................that I have found yet
Press up/down together - MOD LOCKS - will not fire < would have made more since to lock the preset to prevent accidentally switching>

Power and UP simply shows the Memory Slot
Power and Down starts dropping Wattage

Basically - You get more power and less features for 40% more money -

Performance - The mini 2 rips the mini30w a new one at 30 watts.
Ohms seem to read correctly - Even though they stayed with single place reading. .5 not .56 grrrrr

With a Dark Horse on top at 3ohms this thing Billows at 40w, clouds get THICK and Heavy at 50w

You do not want to accidentally hit a Tank set up for 30w at 50w:facepalm: Instant Char Broil

Compared the mini 2 to the Cloupor mini at 30w since it hits harder than the IPV Mini. Cloupor Never stood a chance.

Tested a Kayfun at 5 watts - Same as the 30w in DC-DC mode, hitting around 12w-13w

Final thoughts
I purchased this to fire some of my higher end design RDA's and my Orchids. In this respect this is a win. Does exactly what (I) need it to.For heavier hitters I say, for the price, go for it.
For the casual Vapor - I would recommend sticking with the 30w for its flexibility.
3 ohms @ 40 watts??! Do you mean .3 ohms?

Hello everyone I have one of these coming. I ordered after reading about half this thread. It may be too much. I plan to purchase one of the sub ohm tanks. I have a dripper, but rarely use it. Seems some are saying you only need 30w if you only want to run tanks. This mod does not buck so you will not truly be vaping at the wattage you set. So did I purchase more than I need?

I don't think so, just because the mod goes up to 70w doesn't necessarily mean it excels, or needs to be run at 70w. You'd be switching batteries multiple times a day at 70w.

The mini II has a much better board than the 30w version, so of the two ipv minis, IMO you definitely picked the better unit. True it doesn't step down, but you can always just build coils to a higher resistance if you need lower wattage on something. It will vape at the wattage you set as long as you stay within the board's specs. Obviously you can't vape a .5 ohm sub ohm tank at 12 watts, but nobody should ever want to do that, the coils aren't designed for that, heat flux is too low for good vapor production.

I don't know which sub ohm tank you're looking at, but some of them offer higher resistance coil options that does allow for lower wattage vaping and still good vapor production.

I think you'll like the mod once you get to use it, the board is nice, and offers good performance for the price.

Thanks. Sounds good. I was referring to say you have a .5 ohm coil, you are at 25w, the only way this will work is for your voltage to be set at 3.54v. Your battery will have more voltage than that, so if this mod doesn't buck your set wattage will actually be a little higher than what you have set it at. Say your battery has 3.7v of potential left, you would be at about 27w even if you are set at 20w.

^true-ish.

I will add that you'd actually get a bit more buck-ish headroom due to battery sag......eg, if you're battery is sitting at say 3.7v, when you press the button it sags down to at least 3.5v, depending on your wattage setting and the spec's/health of the battery.....so you could actually get your real 20 watts in this case. I've watched it happen on the IPVmini v1 set in DC-DC mode with an inline volt meter attached, where the mini shouldn't have bucked the voltage down to 3.5v but because I had a ~70% charged battery in it that was moderately sagging, I still got the 3.5v and 20w that i asked it for.

^^ Understood. I have seen post on here that say the Kanger sub tank does not perform well over 20w or so. It has the design I like best though. I will just try it out. If it doesn't work out I'll have a mod for that lonely dripper I have. I have also read in this thread people that are happy with this combination.
