My post wasn't directed at you since I didn't quote you but since you mention it...

The vendor does what it can with the manufacturer. If the Mfg doesn't have a warranty policy/procedure in place, do you expect the vendor to eat the loss? Maybe. It's the cost of doing business but Elev8 isn't Walmart or Amazon. They're a very small online shop. I do agree that Elev8 is dropping the ball with 48 hr responses though. I'd give them a call to get a quicker resolution.
I expect elev8 to replace it with a new device. Pclarity has a replacement on the way. I couldn't care less whether they're a one man band or an international company. If they won't replace it, I expect a full refund and they can get a replacement from Modus to replace their stock. I'm about ready to just tell them to issue a refund and buy elsewhere as the communication delays are concerning. You'd be OK with this if the tables were turned? That's fine if you would be, I'm not.

Vaporskinz has "skins" as well. Black/white carbon fiber and a 25% off Christmas sale right now. Order ASAP before they close down for Holidays for a few days.

:D Waiting on the white carbon fiber for my silver iPV mini sitting under the tree now :D

Thanks for the reminder! I just ordered the White Carbon Fiber as well - White Carbon Fiber IPV mini – Vapor Skinz

It was only $13.50 with free shipping when using the code NEWYEAR.

Can't wait till it arrives, looks very sharp.

This isn't directed AT you, just quoting to offer my opinion. We all have the right to feel the way we do about things. I understand buyer beware and all that, but we do teach people how to treat us by what we allow from folks, companies included. It is common that if something doesn't work right from the get go....you get it replaced or your money back, and most places will pay for you to ship it back to them if you ask. Maybe I expect more from my money, but it's way too hard for me to come by $50.00 and when I do spend that, I expect a product that works....doesn't have bent 510 pins, finish doesn't wear off etc. When we simply swallow all these defects, we let the vendors know that it's ok to send us shoddy crap. I don't necessarily expect a vendor to eat tons of returns, but I do expect them to do their best to deal with a good manufacturer. If the vendors feet are never held to the fire, many will go with the cheapest manufacturer out there to increase their profit margins. I also want a good deal, but will pay a little more for a better quality product, if that's what I'm getting. If I were a vendor, I would demand that for my customers. That's just my opinion of course, and we're all entitled to feel the way we do. I'm not even saying you feel differently, so please don't take this as an attack on what you said.

that being said.....if anyone doesn't want to do this, that's fine, but for all those who have bent 510 pins, would you mind saying who you got yours from? It would be interesting to see if it's all coming from one vendor (ie one manufacturer). This isn't even to crucify a vendor, if no one is letting the vendor know about the bad 510's, it's certainly not the vendors fault. I'm more interested to see if it's coming from one manufacturer that a particular vendor deals with.

Okay, just some quick -- real quick impressions.

I've been using the IPV Mini for a few hours since I returned home from work. I've tried several attys, and the IPV Mini does seem to read the resistance -0.1, which isn't a big deal. I had a .6 dual coil Orchid V4 and it read @ .5 but had no trouble firing. Also a 1.3 ohm KFL+ clone, which reads at 1.2 ohm. The screen does dim down very, very low and then seems to stay on a very long time. If anything will eat up the battery life, it's that screen. But being so dim, it won't be a distraction

DC-DC mode is a very smooth vape. The heft of the device is felt but it's not cumbersome. The fire button is a soft, easy touch. It doesn't take much effort to fire, which is nice. I'm running the same atty on the IPV mini now @ 13 watts that I ran on the istick earlier tonight at 6.5 watts. I think I'm going to like this :)

I just got mine too. I am loving it! my local B&M was having a promo for $65 plus a free LG 18650 battery. For the price and performance, it really is a great little mod that gets you a lot for your money.

What I really like about it is the size. Fits perfectly in my hand. As a mech vaper, I had trouble at first with it firing, later I found out my build was too low (.2 ohms) and wouldn't fire. I rebuilt it at 1.3 ohms which seems to be my sweet spot.

The ridiculously dim display stays on for 1 minute then goes out entirely. The OLED screen draws so little juice from the battery that it's negligable

I bought from Elev8 myself. I also had some problem with them. First they took my order when they where out of stock, at the time the IPV mini was showing up as in-stock nothing about it being a preorder be it a very short one :). I ordered early on the 10th they shipped on the 13th. You could call that 3 days. Then took 5 days to reply to my first e-mail asking them to ship the silver. Well yea they shipped the black(turned out the blacks not bad and i do like the mod) and started replying rudely to my e-mails. Yea this was little stuff but then the attitude started and that did it for me. I would never order from them again. Too many good site with great pricing too put up with being treated like folder. I do like the mod and it's working well for me.

Elev8 has never really had a handle on customer satisfaction. For them it's about the money and not about customer service. I had issues with them when I bought my IPV50W similar to yours OTR, I told them to cancel and I will never buy from them again. Their attitude in e-mails is BS.

The more reviews I see about their CS will only lead to their demise, word spreads fast.

Yep it's funny i was not going to say a word on the forums about this. then i saw the other complaint, and decides to add mine. Now add another and another and soon you don't have a business any more :) Good CS is hard to find i value it when i find it.

I agree mine is about 5 days old now and have been babying it. The paint is still getting messed up. It's is working well but this finish not so much.

Is this perhaps an acidity issue?
Wondering because I have gotten mine very sweaty from use, and even fallen asleep with it in hand. I have dropped mine from a height of 5ft and the only paint imperfection so far is a few asphalt picks from impact.

Good question, so i took the time to see if I could buff the scratch out. Nope down too the bare metal now. What happened is i was in a rush and put the IPV in my vape bag with a few isticks. the isticks after 6 weeks or so are still in great shape, one side of the IPV is now trashed, half a dozen or more smaller scratches. I can only guess the istick rubbed against the IPV in the bag together i normal would wrap both with a hand towel. Now the IPV is Badly scratched, seems to me the paint is so thin, i cant feel the scratches with my finger, with no protective coating. Not that big a deal, No box is prefect they all have small problem. For the money this box is a super value too me. 50 bucks are you kidding me yes i would pay again in a heart beat. I do wish it had 50W LOL.

I bought mine from Elev8 (first time I purchased from them) and had no problems. The device works and looks fine. The 510 connector is straight, finish is good, all in all I have no complaints, but reading that others have had problems with the vendor, I probably won't order from them again.

I have a VTR, an iStick, one MVP2, a Spire Mod by Beyond Vape (very nice mod, but I prefer box mods to tube mods), and the iPV mini is probably my favorite of them all.

I am thinking about getting a MVP20Watt soon, either that or a Sigelei 30 watt mini when it's released, or a Cloupor 30 watt mini, although I have read bad things about Cloupor mods in general.

I actually ordered mine from them as well, just waiting on it to get here, but we will see what happens. Reading the comments about the vendor I got it from, probably might avoid them in the future, but hopefully this device works out for me and I don't have any issues. I mean, I got the BEC Pro and people had issues with them and *knock on wood*, I haven't had the same issues, but we shall see.

The IpvMini that I ordered from Elev8 on 12/15 (with 2-day shipping) has gone from Brooklyn to Chicago where it sat for 4 days, then on to Warrendale, PA and now perhaps it is heading in a more appropriately efficient Southerly direction towards me in NC, but we'll see I guess. Crazy since the previous order went straight from NY to NC in one day.

The IPV Mini has landed. I've only been using it for about an hour but I like it so far. It is very comfortable in the hand and while I'm not a fan of square buttons, they have a nice feel. The 510 is very slightly canted but not enough for me to worry about. The finish is very nice but I wish it was actually black. There is a small dent or crease in the body shell above the fire button. Not a huge deal since this thing will likely lead a fairly rough life. I don't baby my mods, that's for sure. I may throw a Vapor Skinz wrap on it at some point.

Mine almost feels a bit *underpowered*, even at 30W. I'll have to do some two fisted comparisons with my rDNA30. But, the Lemo I'm using has a pretty gnarly .54ohm twisted 24ga coil in it so it does take a second to ramp up which is no surprise. I was using this Lemo build at 45W on an IPV2. Mini shows .4ohm on the display and is firing at 3.7V.

Anyway, first impressions are positive. We'll just have to see how it performs long term. It will roll with my rDNA30 as my primary travel mods so it will see a lot of time in my pocket and console of my truck.
