Im using LG HE2s in my ipv Mini. 2500mah, 20amp continuous and 30amp pulse. That gives PLENTY of headroom for the limitations of the Mini.
Thanks for the suggestions on batteries. Is there an advantage to the Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mah with a regulated mod like this? I'm not clear on the theory but have heard this is the way to go for longest life with a regulated device. (The mah is accurate when using with a regulated device). IIRC, that was something I watched on a video from Pegasus Vapor Academy. I like him, he seems informed and puts information out that I can digest.
Can anyone comment on that?
The Panasonic/Orbtronic NCR18650PD or PF 2900mAh battery is the better suited battery for regulated mods. 2900mAh capacity, high drain capability and 10 amps.
The Panasonic/Orbtronic NCR18650B 3400mAh battery is a hybrid battery whose chemistry is heavily weighted to the ICR end of the scale, making it NOT a high drain battery with high internal resistance and with only a 6.8 amp continuous discharge rate. These will work fine in a mechanical mod using factory built coils. They are not the ideal battery for regulated mods, or a mechanical mod using a Kick or Rebuildable Atomizer. These batteries are essentially ICR batteries for all practical purposes, and are best suited for low drain applications such as flashlights.
The reason is regulated mods use PWM (pulse width modulation) to make voltage output higher than 3.7 volts. The voltage that you set your mod to is the "mean voltage", all the while the processor must make pulse currents which can demand up to 9 amps from the battery. What really hurts this battery in high drain applications is its high internal resistance. Higher internal resistance cells will not perform to the level of true high drain batteries and therefore reduce the mod's overall performance when used.
If a battery has a higher internal resistance it will drop more voltage when current is taken out and as a result the regulated mod will indicate it is at end of charge when it could have a significant amount of capacity remaining. What good is this capacity (3400mAh) if it cannot be utilized by the regulated mod? It is of no use, so why use it? There are better batteries available.
This has been explained by the tech engineers of Provape. The Provari uses PWM just like any other regulated mod does. I posed a question to Provape about how a 6 amp IMR battery like the AW 18350 could adequately power the Mini Provari, and they responded back with the following statement:

Take from this information what you want. As others here have said, they have been using the Panny 3400mAh batteries with no issues, but theoretically these are not the ideal battery for a regulated mod. For the best performance, the Panny NCR18650PF or PD 2900mAh batteries are the best choice.
I'm pretty certain this will be my next mod. Since my only other mods have been regulated with built-in (non replacable) batteries, I am a bit out of the loop on good batteries.
Can you make a couple recommendations on what I should be shopping for in the battery? I will do my own homework, but I just want to know the basics as an average consumer. I don't need to become battery technical mastermind. Are there going to be advantages to button or flat top with this mod?
I assume I want a safe, reliable 18650, and I won't go on the cheap with a battery........regulated or not, I want to be safe. I only build in the 1.5 to 2.0 ohm range and typically vape at 8-10 watts.

So excited, finally going to order my ipv mini!!! I want to get the usb charger set up and I am hoping someone can tell me where to get the correct wall wart? (Already have a regular charger, just want the usb option too)
And any last leads on vendors who have EXCELLENT customer service (in case i end up with an issue) as well a best prices?
Right now I have my cart at 101vape loaded with a silver ipv mini and 2 efest 35 amp batteries... I don't think the wall wart they carry is right for this set up, so I'll have to get it elsewhere. Will wait a bit before I process the sale in case ya'll have a better idea

I just use my cell phone charger. The mod will provide limits on how fast the battery will charge.
i think those are ok for other kind of lower wattage devices like the vamo, svd, zmax, etc. But i would not use them in the mini, they last longer but they discharge rate is low. You need at least LG HE2, Samsung 25r, or sony vtc3, vtc4 or vtc5. (20 to 30 amp), or other brands like efest purple, mnke, etc. Sony vtc5 is not available any longer. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in, but i would say no on the panasonics you mentioned.

Im rethinking buying the efest batteries. I found the samsung and lg batteries you mention but also found these mxjo IMR 18650 2500MAH 35A High Drain. Are these ideal as well?

why are you guys using 20A batteries in this mod? Even a basic 10A AW battery will run it at full power. 1 ohm coil and giving it 25W is only pulling 5A from the battery

The IPV Mini uses a YiHiEcigar SX130 chip with a 13 amp input spec. I'm not even a Holiday Inn expert in electronics but it is my understanding from my betters that for regulated devices one needs to look at what the chip needs in the way of amperage input because the chip is what determines the amount of power being drawn from the battery.
