Received my ipv mini today that I ordered on 14th December (new record for USPS but I guess I should expect that around Christmas). Didn't even really look at the 510 just screwed on a lemo and it was working, thought I would try an Atlantis and see what it read the coil as and there was some crackling, luckily I realised some sort of short was happening and pulled the battery quickly. Had a look at the 510 and it has been pushed back into the device, appears that it was only being held in place by glue. I don't think I want another one, have emailed elev8 stating I would like a refund, the sad thing is whatever they choose to do is probably going to take ages but we'll see how they handle it.

Dropped the Pic to save thread space.

Not sure what happened, But the part is NOT HOT GLUED.
Broke is Broke and I hate that yours is, but it is not from loose hot glue.
The part seems to be Pressed in Place. It is possible there is a stress fracture in your unit that allowed the 510 to push inward.
Odd thing is........... The Negative is Pinned and soldered at the side of the 510 That should add anchorage to the fitting.

Yes, I just took mine apart ............... AGAIN.......... Just to double check. :D

It seemed those with the blue ones are having the best luck. I've ordered and returned the silver one (it had scratches on the screen). Myepack uk are sending a replacement. I didn't even put a battery in the first one. New one should be here Monday. Hopefully I get a good one :-/
I'll never order another p4u product again. Why run the risk when there are better manufacturers out there with products that actually do what they're meant to. I have 2 varitube 510 22mm connections coming, If I'm feeling brave I might have a go and put that in.
It could just be bad wiring in the 510. Maybe a wee re-solder with the existing connection might fix the resistance readings?

I haven't been able to keep up with the thread but have read most pages and haven't seen anything mentioned about it so here goes...

I've had my mini a few weeks and have been experimenting with dc-dc and pwm the last few days. A few minutes ago and I could hear a something coming from within the mod when in PWM mode.

Sounds like a buzzing almost. Anyone else get this??? Just use dc-dc?

From what I understand ...

The voltage is pulsating while in PWM mode. Some other variable volt / watt devices make much more noise. You may have read on the forum of the 'rattlesnake' sound some people talk about.

The Mini is actually very quiet in PWM mode ... you have very good ears :)

Your Mini should be perfectly quiet in DC-DC since there is no pulsating of voltage ... straight DC

Well 1 week turn around for my replacement from asmodus (the warranty company). Not too shabby if I may say so. They sent me a new ipv mini seems to be working fine. 510 is flush, no problem with any of my attys. one thing I noticed is the ohm reader is about .01-.03 off compared to the rest of my mods. I don't remember my first one having that issue seems like it was dead on but I've read where this is pretty common. No problem I'll just adjust accordingly.

I did do that as well. I also heard the "rattlesnake" when I switched to PWM. My Sigelei does that occasionally, but neither my MVP nor my Vamo does. I am happy with DC-DC mode.

I'm really let down by my Mini. The reading at lower ohm than the coil actually is, is a real problem. Do other people have this issue, or is it just my box? Since the Atlantis reads 0.4 ohm, 30 watts is weak as hell for me on the mini. The subtank works well at 30 watts reading at the same 0.4 ohms since it's less power hungry, but its just too big and gaudy. Can't believe the new iStick 50 watt is even smaller and the same price. I would've waited.
