Just got mine. Man I heard it was small buts as still impressed by how small it really is! Anyway I have a few concerns already. Firstly, the front plate on mine has a little play. Like when I tap it it makes a noise, like it might fall off one day. Anyone have the same issue? All the reviewers noted no rattle so I figure it may just be my unit.

Also the SS316 preset doesn't seem to be working well for me. With the same tank coming off my dna 200 it cuts the vape way too early at same temp. Have to set it around 30 degrees higher to get proper vape.

And the manual describes a locking feature by holding the power and up button however this does nothing for me. Anyone else notice that?
For TC every Yihi chipped mod that I have owned requires you to lock in the resistance of the coils while at room temperature by holding down the + and - buttons. If you haven't done that, let the atty / coils come to room temp and do that.

Cheers,
Steve

I did lock the resistance at room temp each time. I put in the manual TCR for SS316 and it seems to be working fine now. Don't know why the preset wasn't working for me. Maybe because I'm using fused claptons? Still, if the Wismec board can regulate temp fine with my SS fused builds, don't see why my first Yihi board can't. I've heard so much about Yihi being second only to the DNA.

I really hope they fix these issues (temp adjusting vs Joule, locking feature) in an update. Don't see why the ipv400 can lock but this one can't.

I have had difficulties with TCR on the IP6X also. The 316 preset works well but seems a little cool.

Yeah idk what the deal is. Im vaping 2 tanks at around 60-75 watts 450-470 degrees F on both my Reuleaux and VT200 but on the IPV6x and its SS316 preset, I need to have it at at least 490 to get a similar vape. Then with a TCR of 0.00092 (SS316), I still need the temp up in the 470-480 range to achieve the same vape (as that on my Reuleaux and DNA200 mods).

Oddly, my IPV acts almost like my DNA200 with a TCR of 0.00125?, which is what Djlsbvapes suggested you input with the IPV400 to get accurate TC with SS316. I thought the board on the IPV6 was different than the IPV400, so I'm not sure why this is working for me.

I wonder if the boards are different at all. Both mods have the same problem with the reverse polarity protection. The mods came out at about the same time. I don't have the mods to open and look. It's just the more I read, the more I wonder if there not basically the same board. They sure act like they are the same.

If you get a second look at the Yihi board options on their website. It's quite possibly a different board with the exact same chip configuration. It's actually bothersome. I still can't figure out why they didn't use the 350v2 vs the guy in this. Kind of silly not to have any profile options on you newest and bestest devices. Honestly the 5, 6, 400, and 7 are probably all variations on the 330. No actual upgrades in over a year.

You know what I take back what I said. I think the TCR of .00092 is working OK. It's tough to tell because my daily user Limitless RDTA Plus has been sitting on my desk while I've been using my new Sapor RTA with a new SS fused Clapton build in it. And I know every SS fused Clapton build performs differently with TC in my experience.

I just received my 6X today and while I love the looks and the form factor, I am having issues with the TCR function...it just doesn't work.

I lock my resistance like I should and set the TCR to .00092 for SS316L but no matter what temp or wattage I set it at it does not regulate the temperature.
However, the SS316 preset works, I just have to set my temp pretty high to get a warm satisfying vape.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. Return it and go through the hassle or keep it and hope that they come out with an update to fix the issue. :(

Try using the 0.0015 TCR for your SS if you want a more accurate TC. I just switched mine back to the SS316 preset and just turned the temp up to 520 to get the vape I want. I'm used to fiddling around wildly with temp using SS fused claptons. You said you can turn the temp up and get your vape, but you're still considering returning it? May I ask why?

On another note, this is my second day with my IPV6x on the same 6 month old Sony VTC5s running at 65 Joules and battery meter appears to be just below half-not bad.

Thanks, I'll try that TCR but I doubt it will make a difference. I've tested it using a dry coil with no cotton and whatever TCR number I used the coil would end up glowing red. It seems like the mod is just not locking the resistance in manual TCR mode and every time I fire it reads the resistance again and fires even higher. I even tried setting the temp as low as it would go and the result was the same. It behaves like wattage mode.

Right now on the SS316 preset I have the temp at 565 to get a similar vape as my RX200 that's set at 480. I'm just afraid that this doesn't give me much headroom temp wise since I'm pretty much setting it close to the max setting.

I'm trying to figure out whether this issue is across the board or if my unit is just faulty. I take it your TCR mode works fine? The battery life seems to be pretty good but it's hard to tell right now will all this testing... I'm running them down in a matter of hours lol.

Well I believe my TCR mode is working but I didn't do any dry cotton test. I'm sure you know that the test can be an unreliable measure of the quality of the temperature regulation of a device as many perform perfectly fine with a juiced coil but singe cotton in a dry burn test.

Have you been basing your observations on a single build in a single atomizer? Just trying to help troubleshoot...

I appreciate the help... For the dry burn test I used a single coil but all my RTA's in rotation are using dual coils. The only reason why I decided to do the dry burn test was because the vape seemed off in TCR mode. It just felt like no matter what setting I had it at it was firing the wattage without regulating the temp. For example If set it at 480 and 55 watts the vape feels the same as setting it at 320 and 55 watts.

I also tried it with a wicked and juiced coil...it erupted in flames lol..no joke.

I am having the EXACT same experience that you are with TCR. No matter what TCR is entered, it will glow the coils bright red like the TC is not working at all.

I am also have the EXACT same experience that you are with the SS316 preset. I have it set to 540. To get the same warmth on my Innokin TC18650, I set it to 450.

I didn't mention any of this because I assumed that I was doing something wrong or that my Innokin mod was innacurate and ran the coils too hot.

With all of that said, I love the form factor, battery life, and build quality. The SS316 preset works really well if I set the temperature high. I like it very much!

Now that I see that someone else is experience the EXACT same issues as me, it makes me wonder why the mod is doing what it is doing, and makes me wonder if all of them are like this, or if we got a bad batch.

@Kayvin M, Where did you purchase yours? I got mine from Vapor DNA.

Also, do we have any confirmation that this does have updateable firmware? I know that the IPV400 does not.

You may have got a bad batch as in TCR mode, the vape does seem to plateau at a point during a long drag. I did get one dry hit yesterday but I let my tank run nearly dry and one coil could have been saturated while the other was dry.

Btw I got mine from Breazy.

Oh, also all the reviews I watched mentioned firmware upgradeability and most actually mentioned a 215w upgrade but I have yet to find it on the web.

I purchased mine from 3FVape.com last week or so. The funny thing is my reverse battery protection actually works, which apparently there is a recall for.

I came across a reddit post of someone who also has this issue and according to him he took it back to the shop and tested all the other ones that they had in stock and they also exhibited the same behavior. Maybe there was a large percentage of the initial batch that have this issue. I was told that P4Y stopped shipping them out after the first batch to fix the reverse battery protection issue.

Like jj6404 said, all the reviews that I've watched stated that the mod is upgradable but I haven't seen any confirmation of that yet so.... time will tell.

I'm getting some really different results with TC today guys... Tried it on the SS preset again and had it all the way up at 572 F and was barely producing any vapor. I've gone back to a 0.00092 TCR but have gotten a couple dry hits. This may be because of my wicking job though as the atomizer I am using is also new and am still learning it.

Even with the finicky TC and lack of lock function, I still love this thing. I love the size, design and form factor so much I'm willing to look over these performance issues lol.

Since the SS316 preset works well for me with the temp cranked up, I think that I am going to continue to use mine for the next couple of months and then send it in to KMG for the recall. Hopefully by then, all of the kinks will have been worked out and they will replace my mod with a new one.
