My apologies for automatically presuming you had the Version 1.2, as the locking feature is not available in it. I have not heard about the jumping watts issue with the V1.3..

You may need to delve into more detail regarding the circumstances the watts jump for you, but you should contact your vendor anyway.

@gtrtech We have been struggling with foreign currencies in my country lately so I don't think shipping it from Egypt all the way to the States is going to be a feasible solution at the moment, especially considering the shipping costs and the customs when it comes back. I guess I'll just have to live with it.

@KayP Unfortunately, vaping isn't fully "legal" over here as cigarette companies are still fighting it, so there are no official vendors, just people like myself who import hardware on their own responsibility or bring it with them when coming from abroad, and most of the liquids being sold here are locally done. I am almost 100% sure the vendor will tell me he's not responsible for sending it abroad and asking for a replacement so I am stuck with it, unless I decide to sell it and buy a Wismec or something.

Seeing if the folks who recieved the v1.3 eventually got in the v1.5. Also, wanted to see if there was anyone selling the v1.5.

I gave up. The 2x return shipment negated any "preorder" savings I may of had. They are replacing it with a SMOK Alien.

If I ever do get an IPV6X it will be purchased local where I can stuff 2 batteries in and check the firmware version before purchase.

I didn't bother seeking a replacement for my 1.3: it took too long for me to get it in the first place. In addition there are reports of 1.3 still being sold to other folks. Even though 1.5 is slowly being filtered through, it's still very much a gamble.

On the other hand, there's an IPV8 now; however you won't find me playing the preorder game again.

They all seem to be the same yihi 330 chip from the IPV5, only with different corresponding numbers. F6, F8.

The 5 may be the best bet so far, as the tc/tcr works on it.

Not sure about tc with the preprogrammed materials, but the tcr is nonfunctional.

From what I've gathered: In all versions the preset TC for SS provides a lacklustre vape, i.e. it's not accurate. Functioning TCR is only available from version 1.5; therefore, the user is able make adjustments for a more accurate TC vape.

On my 1st IPV6x the Ni, Ti and TCR would not work. I did not fully test the v1.3 I had for a whole whooping 15min before I sent it back.

While the "fixed" wire types might be functional on the v1.3 firmware (I don't know for sure) it has been confirmed that v1.5 firmware is needed for functional TCR vaping.

(not having functional TCR is a "show stopper" for me and my needs)
