That setup could possibly work, but personally, as a moderate vaper, I get about an hour off of one 510 battery, and they take about 45 minutes to charge, so it could be doable..but you'd constantly be charging.

But for such long hours, one could bring with two ego batteries, or possibly one mega ego batt., and not need to charge at all. Puresmoker is having an awesome sale on them right now, 49.99, as opposed to the usual 75.00, if you're interested. Really a great deal. Not to tempt you to spend more money, although they are durable for your line of work and really last forever, and all your 510 attys will work on it. I'm a moderate, perhaps aggressive, vaper, so I usually ended up in the downward spiral of dead battery before the next is charged in the PCC... which quickly lead to no power on either battery...

I work in the film industry, with days that easily clock 14 hours, so I needed a solution... I found that there was a behavior mod, and some extra "gear" that worked out for me:

1. 2 "XL" batteries. Fairly cheap (around $30 for a pair), and add a few extra hours before needing to go to the normal bats/PCC combo.

2. I stopped the "vapes of opportunity" wherein I would pull a drag or two when I saw a chance, and instead, while on set, switched to "vape it like an analog." I step aside to where ever smoking is okay, and vape for 5 minutes.

Before, when I just vaped a puff here and there when the opportunity presented itself, I would eat through a regular battery in about 70-80 minutes... with roughly 4 recharges from the PCC and the 2 pre-charged regular bats, I'd be vapeless after about 7 or 8 hours.

When I switched the behavior, the 2 regular bats and PCC would last me about 12 hours. The added 2 XL bats last me for about 12 hours, which leaves me well covered for the last 2-3 hours of the shoot, without bugging any tech guys for an open USB port. :)

Hello all

I work in the oil exploration industry. I find myself in the field up to 14hrs a day at times and I was wondering if I started out with two fully charged 510 batts and a fully charged PCC if that would be enough to get me through the day?

Out in the field, I don't see how you could make this work. At a desk, it could work along with a passthrough. Sorry. Instead of buying a bunch of batteries to go with it, you might want to think about upgrading to an eGO or Hello16. Puresmoker.com did have an eGo dual set for 49.95 if they haven't sold out. Good luck and happy vaping.

The type and amount of cigarettes you smoke isn't a reliable indicator of how much, and at what nicotine level you will vape. That's too bad, because that is the only information we can use to make a wild guess. If I had to advise someone, this is the S.W.A.G. I would pull out of my ah... pull out of thin air:

If you smoke 1 pack or less per day, you might be a light vaper. 8 to 12 mg juice, and you'll vape like 1 or 2 ml per day. A PCC and a couple of batteries might do it for you, and an eGO could last all day.

2 pks of full-strength cigs per day, you might be med to med-heavy vaper. 12 to 24 mg juice, 2 or 3 ml per day. You need a big-battery mod to get through the whole day without swapping batteries.

3+ pks per day, you will likely be a heavy vaper. 24 - 36 mg juice, 4 or 5 ml per day. You're going to wind up direct-dripping on a big-battery mod at "high voltage", and carrying extra batteries, an extra atty, and a bottle of juice.

So, like I said, I just made that stuff up based on my own pre-concieved notions. Tell us where YOU think you're going to fit into that spectrum, and we can give you better advice.

Personally, I spend a lot of time on the road. I work in the cash register biz, covering 3 states, so there are a lot of long drives. Here's what gets me thru the day:

First off, I've got a DC converter for my truck that has 2 USB ports. (WalMart, I think it was around $20) One has my USB passthrough, the other is either charging my PCC or my cell phone. Using the passthrough when "in transit" really, REALLY helps a lot.

I usually carry at least 3 batts, one I'm using, another in my shirt pocket, and the third in my PCC. 2 could get you by, tho. The trick here is that you keep the PCC on that charger in the vehicle as much as you can, and swap out batts often... you don't have to wait until a batty is "dead" before charging it (L/I batteries don't have a "memory" like the old Ni-Cads). If I stop for an hour somewhere, I take the batt I was using in the store and swap it with the PCC as soon as I leave.

Oh, and it helps that I vape 20-25 mg juice :) Stronger puffs = fewer puffs. At that strength, a 510 batty lasts me usually around 1.5-2 hours... so with even just 2 batteries + PCC, and using my passthrough... even if I crash "Bob the Truck" and/or kill the truck battery, and even with one of my 2 batteries dead, I've got 1+4 charges, or 7 1/2 hours minimum to get to a USB port before I have to really worry. That USB adapter turns "Bob" into a charging station for my PCC and a source for my passthrough at the same time. I usually end up back at home after a 14-16 hour day with everything fully charged :)

Just personal experience... hope that helps. My bosses wife just got an Ego, and she smokes about half a pack of Marlboro reds a day. I fully expect one of those batts to last her a day and a half, maybe more. Ego might be a better option, especially if you spend a LOT of time away from your vehicle.

I haven't had much experience with travel with my PV yet (only 10 days vaping and unemployed... so where the hell would I go lol). But just sitting here vaping at my desk all day I only go through 1 eGo battery every 12 hours or so. I'm trying to get a "puff count" on the eGo battery (I tested my 510 battery and those get around 60-70 puffs per charge).

My eGo carrying case can hold 2 full eGo's, one full 510 and an extra ego and 510 battery (plus 2 3ml bottles, a 5ml bottle, an extra atomizer w/ cart, a pair of tweezers... plus a little room to spare).

I've been tempted to buy a PCC... but my 510 batteries are my "last resort", not my normal use battery. Plus, it seems like I can get more out of 3 eGo batteries than a PCC could give me even if I had enough 510 batteries to get the full "bang for my buck".

I have a feeling that the eGo is the best non-mod PV for vapers on the go:)
