I'm a fairly new vaper, and have been amazed by the ease with which PVs let me quit tobacco while allowing me to continue blowing "smoke", which I love to do. No other cessation method compares, for me.

When I think about the wrong-headed bans that seem to loom ever closer all the time, I worry about this wonderful technology slipping into obscurity, if not outright unavailability. This is not a good thing.

So, the modders and commercial builders have got the power sources sorted. Nobody can stop us from putting a screw connector on a battery holder. Not to mention, the tougher mods will likely last a lifetime.

...but the attys, I worry about. They're comparatively fragile, finicky, and unserviceable. If the hammer really falls, and they go away, so does vaping as we know it.

This fact has me thinking. If the really technical/skilled folks among us could create the vast array of mod options we see, how impossible would building super-attys be? Heavier-duty nichrome, tougher fittings, better protection, easier cleaning, user-swappable elements, perhaps sourced from "legitimate" devices, etc... Does an atty have to be disposable?

Just some musing, while I vape away. I really want PVs to become something that can last.

Hey, welcome to the world of 'smoke free'! To be honest, I didn't plan on quitting when I got my 1st kit. That day, though, was the day of my last cigarette. June 20 will be a year.

On the subject of attys. There are some really talented people in here that are rebuilding & making their own attys right now. Not only that, they post a step by step on how you can do it also. Take a look here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...zer-coil-101-actual-working-methods-only.html. That is only one of many.
Browse through the mod forums, there is a wealth of info in here.
