Is anyone else as pumped about this as I am?

Honestly, I was never into Star Trek. Until recently, when my Boyfriend's been watching all of DS9 with me. He grew up with the show, and now he's sharing it with me. We're only just starting season 4, I think, but I'm absolutely loving it. I want to watch TNG next, but I kind of dig the politics and character/setting development present in DS9. I'm sure I'll like it all. Can't believe how intimidated I was by Star Trek! I mean, I've always been fairly nerdy, but Star Trek came across to me as a lifestyle.

Nah, you can be a big Trek fan without having your life revolve around it.

If you are ready for another Trek series, take a look at Voyager. I do like TNG, but I do not think that it holds up nearly as well as Voyager. If you like the Borg and time travel episodes, Voyager is the series for you........

Seven of Nine !!:D

Did anybody read the books that came after that final episode. It continues the story after they got back to earth. Excellent Books.

I did not know that those books existed...........Do you have a title?

Hmmmmm...

If I were to rank 'em - I think I'd go in this order:

Voyager
TNG
OS
DS9
Enterprise ( I only watched 1 or 2 episodes, I couldn't get into it at all)

The only thing that upset me on Voyager was the entire last season - suddenly they were in contact with Earth and all that - I thought that went beyond the bounds of reason and made the show kinda hokey... You could tell the writers at that point were struggling for story lines.

I would have loved to see more of species 8472 (not absolutely sure of the number......)
That was a story line they could have fleshed out stronger and more dynamic than the Borg, but they just let it dwindle and die...

I'll be watching this one on IMAX.

I have been a long time Trek fan and to me, the original series was my favorite, followed closely by Voyager, then NG, then DS9, then Enterprise, which I never really watched because I thought it sucked except for Jolene Blalock.

Also, that story about Jeri Ryan is pretty hot. :p

Part one - Star Trek Voyager - Homecoming
Part two - Star Trek Voyager The farther shore

Story picks up after their return to earth and is about a borg plague that strikes earth and of course the voyager crew and 7 of 9 are being blamed for it.

Good Read.

Books that come out after those are good also. Chakote is new captain of voyager and Janeway is Admiral.

I still love ST and can't wait to see the movie. I have tons of collectibles. Most of it is in boxes somewhere. I don't buy anything any more. Here are a few things I do have displayed on a shelf in the bedroom.

i want to see it :) We saw an older couple talking about it at CPK last night, and I soooooooo now want to go see it!

Sounds like an excellent movie!

The new Star Trek is a MUST SEE for all Trek fans.

Not to give away the story for the sake of those who did not see it yet, I can tell you this, the producers did a great job with the story line to be able to keep the Star Trek adventures with the original characters alive and well for years to come.

You'll know what I mean after you see the film.
