Is Capella Cake Batter Supposed to taste like...

Is capella's cake batter supposed to taste like cinnamon? I tried to make a strawberry shortcake recipe, but I just get the taste of cinnamon. Has anyone else experienced this? I didn't use much only 1% and 4% custard. Maybe it's the custard? these are 2 new flavors I have just gotten so I am not overly familiar with how they go together. Any thoughts on this would be great.

It's not bad, just not the cake batter flavor I was hoping for.

It definitely shouldn't taste like cinnamon. Neither should the custard, but hey everyones taste's are different. What recipe did you make?

Also, Cap's Cake Batter becomes much better with age. It becomes much more buttery and much more bready. It's one of my favorite flavors for anything bakery.

Well, I originally tried to make a unicorn milk clone for my niece and someone suggested I add a touch of cinnamon danish swirl in place of vanilla swirl and it was nasty LOL so I thought I would take my cake batter for a whirl and come up with a strawberry shortcake flavor. It isn't bad at all but I just taste this dry cinnamon spice note and my strawberry and cream that I was expecting to stand out just doesnt!

This is what I made
CAP cake batter 1%
TFA strawberry ripe 12%
FW sweet cream 3%
CAP vanilla custard v1 4%

My original tasting for the cake batter and vanilla custard didn't produce a cinnamon type flavor, but then again the cake batter did have a sort of dry, very slightly nutty bread flavor to it so I don't know. Now I got a 10ml bottle I have to try and vape. I notice the cinnamon taste comes out more in my rda than it does in my protank mini.

Did you maybe make a cinnamon type mix and maybe got some cross contamination. Those 2 flavors shouldn't taste like cinnamon. Or maybe your carto may have had some left over cinnamon from a previous vape.

I haven't tried it yet myself but I've seen it in a few recipes with no mention of cinnamon. I plan on picking some up on my next order because I want to try a Suicide Bunny Clone recipe that was posted by GrandSam over in the 'What are you making' thread. Sounds to me like you may have got a bad bottle.

Nope, no cross contamination I make sure to clean thoroughly between each flavor change. I'm thinking I am a bit sensitive to the taste of the cake batter. No one has ever mentioned a nutty dryness that I get from it so maybe it's just one of those flavors I would do better with at a very low percentage? like half a percent or by the drop? The vape clouds smell exactly like shortcake so I'm guessing its just my buds. I might whip up a batch tomorrow without the cake batter and see if it the cinnamon type taste is gone. If so I know it's the cause. I want to like it and I don't mind cinnamon it's just not what I was wanting in this recipe.

I've had vapes taste like one thing then taste completely different the next day. Maybe your tastes buds are over worked and just tired.

I have had tfa strawberry ripe have a cinnamon like taste at high percentages when mixed with capellas cake batter and then turn into a caramel taste into the 4th week of aging. try dropping the percentage of the strawberry ripe in half and wait a month. much better taste. Made 3 versions of that recipe, just strawberry ripe at 6 and cake batter at 1.5 percent with 6 weeks in the closet is a better strawberry cake flavor. the 12% strawberry ripe was ok at 2 weeks but the cake batter was not ready and the the strawberry ripe at 12% did not stay a strawberry flavor by 6 weeks when the cake batter is great.
