Everytime I start to try to answer one of these questions about safety, FDA, banning, laws, I end up going on a long long tirade about the what I have been seeing in this country with our supposed healthcare system and gov't and big tobacco, and all their slick evil deeds over the last several decades, and it just gets too long to be appropriate of the thread!
It is pretty clear that vaping is much much safer than smoking, but not safer than doing nothing at all, including nic gum, patches, etc. For most of us here, we have reached a point of desperation that all the positive one-liners from nonsmokers cannot penetrate, and that is nothing has worked to stop us from smoking...until now.
Nicotine is a poison, for sure, but it is less a threat than the 1000s of chemicals in tobacco consumption, some of which are purposefully added to increase addiction to smokes. Comparatively vaping is a benign choice, even compared to, IMHO, the patch, which can deliver poisoning levels of nic all at once. Many example of people going to the ER because they forgot they had one on and smoked.
I will rant about the other things I am infuriated about with regard to the FDA and BP and BT later. Do the research on line. Go as deep as you can. I think you will find it is a preferable alternative to smoking, but not necessarily preferable to being completely nicotine free. Find me a way to be that, and I'll put down the 510...with baviarian cream...or carmel apple...or pralines and cream...or...oh my! I forgot I made THIS!...
