Is flavor affected by PG vs VG - also anyone ever suspect issues with a vendor?

I got some VG liquid (100%) and the flavor it seems is nearly non-existent. It should have been stronger ... I got a coffee, mint and a tobacco flavor ... crap-load of vapor though. Also, I have been having issues with nic level. I heard that "lights" are the same as 18mg. I felt needed something stronger, especially in the mornings, I keep reaching for analogs - the 18MG juice was not cutting it. The juice, with the weak flavor was supposed to be 30mg I was going to use as my "wake up" until I adjust to only vapiong. BUT ... I been vaping that stuff all day trying to figure it out ... nothing ... swapped back to the 18mg stuff ... now I can FEEL the nic in that. So, is it me or did I possibly get screwed? I plan on calling the vendor tomorrow.

VG will mute the flavor of your juice and at 100% it's definitely going to be noticeable. I think that's the problem right there. I usually vape 50/50 or 60PG/40VG and get wonderful flavor and plenty of vapor.

There isn't a direct correlation between the nicotine level of what you smoked and what you should vape. I was a PAD+ Ultra light smoker and I needed to start out at 24mg. There are some people who smoked full flavor cigarettes and can't vape more than 12mg. I can't explain why your 30mg juice didn't have any punch. That's an awfully high nic level. I seriously doubt that you got screwed, especially if the vendor is one of our registered vendors. It could've just been an honest mistake and I'm sure they'll make it right.

WoH ... thanks ... They only sell 100% VG. Thought I'd give it a try seeing as they are local. If I go back to them I'll see about adding a little more flavor. As far as the nic thing goes ... I thought 10 was going to be high too ... maybe this is the way to jump start me on a lower nic level. I'll just resign to being a little ".....y" until I adjust. Thanks again.

Sometimes a strong tasting juice with great throat hit will give the illusion of having more nicotine. In a way, it tricks you into "feeling" the nicotine. If the 30mg stuff was too weak tasting that could be just the problem.

Also, don't stress out too much about trying to keep your nic levels low at this point. The main thing right now is to keep you off the cigarettes, if it takes 24mg then it takes 24mg, if it takes 30mg then it takes 30mg. You can revisit your nicotine intake in 6 months when you are totally comfortable and would never dream of smoking again in your wildest imaginations.

You know, I'm gonna throw out a couple of shameless suggestions. I know it's more convenient to walk into a place and buy stuff, but you'll find more variety and consistency buying online:

VaporBomb, Gourmet Vapor, Tasty Vapor and Backwoods Brew (who should be back online tomorrow.) Okay, that's more than a couple, but all are highly recommended and registered vendors here on the forums. You'll be able to choose the PG/VG ration and the nicotine content. You'll get a higher quality juice and all of them will work with you to get the nic level that will work best for you.

What woman of heart said VG needs more flavour than PG as a rule of thumb. VG is thick and produces a rich vapor and has a taste of its own. PG on the other hand is thin and has a slight taste but is more refreshing. I tried them both neat at the start of my vaping hobby it was part of finding my feet. I think you will get a refund or a new bottle. I used strong tobacco when I smoked but weak E juice now I vape. Why I do not know but that is the way it is for me. Also the hit of the e juice is not like tobacco try and forget the big morning rush and focus on the I'm not as angry as I could be without my e cig. It takes a while to find the strength juice that suits so keep vaping and posting.

You have gotten a lot of great advice on here. Throat hit can be achieved with higher PG higher nicotine and some flavors such as mints or menthols even add a harshness. Some vendors sell additives that are supposed to add throat hit but that seems to be a hit or miss with people.
As far as 100% VG goes I have found the same as the rest here have posted. It is all in the mix of the flavor. If the vendor does not add a significant amount of flavor to their juice it is very bland.
I found that AVE-Juice is very flavorful and 100% VG... so strong in flavor I sometimes have to cut it with straight VG. That's just me.
Also Gourmet Vapor has the option of doubling or tripling their flavor when you select a juice flavor.... With them I use the double flavor to vape with 50PG/50VG or if I am making my own juice I simply triple the flavor. Again it is personal preference.
If you can tolerate PG consider yourself lucky and enjoy all the different vendors and mixes out there. Myself I can not vape anything higher than the 50/50 mix or asthma strikes.
I am sure there are more vendors with great 100%VG mixes and just as strong flavor as the ones I've mentioned. I am always open to trying new vendors and plan to look at some of those mentioned above.
Good luck and keep asking questions.

EDIT: almost forgot I was a 1/2 PAD smoker and had to start with 24mg juice because the 18mg left me craving the analogs... Find the taste and the nic level that keeps you satisfied then later on down the road you can worry about diluting the nic amount.
