I have to second SomeTexan, you don't even need ceramic pliers for micro coils, if you heat the coil up and stop firing before pressing it with a usual one. Everybody has his own sweet spot, if you already found it, going in that direction will definitely help to save a few packs.

i never use ceramic pliers, too expensive for me. just don't press ur coils when firing. for making ur own coils, just get some 30ft kanthal, kuro concepts(u can get all these less than 10bucks), watch sm youtube video n u'r good to go.
