Let me put it this way: vaping can be very educational.

First you learn the "tricks of the trade" - read up on this vaping subject, read up on that vaping subject, familiarize yourself with a technology which is new to you, familiarize yourself with its intricacies and some troubleshooting, and get the hang of it.

Then - you are faced with a lot of anti-vaping propaganda. And you read up on the scientific studies about vaping. The scientific ones - not the junk science propagated in the media and parroted by a bunch of ... uhm... uneducated people... who live on sound bites. You might even rekindle your interest in politics. Which you dropped decades ago, when you found out that "those up there" are not much different from each other.

Yes, vaping can definitely be very educational indeed :)

And yes, it is pleasant to be among one's own age group. People who can think, people who can spell correctly, people from whom you can learn. :)

Because nicotine is a mental stimulant? That's what I'm going with anyway. Intelligence never did matter when it comes to addictive things.

I can believe that those who have turned this into a hobby are more intelligent. Look at everything someone needs to learn to get into this. Ohms law, the best batteries and why, the pros and cons to various chips in regulated devices, why different toppers may be leaking and how to fix them. Which are better for that matter and why? Look at the engineering that went into something like the Kayfun, and look at how many people here can truly appreciate it. It's easy to see how vaping as a hobby could draw in those who are more technically inclined. Even those who came without an inkling of technology, had to learn if they wanted a good vape. Those starter kits? They aren't easy to deal with. I was troubleshooting issues within the first few hours on mine. That's where those without the gumption to learn go back to cigarettes.

I think it's less about learning while using electronic cigarettes than it is about who chooses to try them. 50% of users have degrees or higher in education...

We're the front force. We're the black sheep, the ones that dare defy conventions and fight ignorance. We are the ones that are willing to make things change and fiddle with emerging technology to help make it better and more accessible to the rest of the population!
:)facepalm: Could someone just step in and deflate my ego?)

"Is it me or are e-cig users more intelligent?"

That is a very intelligent question. Because of the way you formulated it, the only answer is yes, so you are always right and in a way forced us to agree. You see, if I said it indeed was you, and not that e-cig users are more intelligent, the answer to the question would be yes. If I said it wasn't you, but that e-cig users are more intelligent, the answer would still be yes. The same goes if it indeed was you and if e-cig user are indeed more intelligent. The only case in which the answer would be no is when it wasn't you and e-cig users are not more intelligent. But then the question could just as well have not been asked and is therefor nonsensical, so in every sensible way the answer is yes.

How's that for a smartass answer?

We may not be smarter than those who still smoke, but we're darn sure better organized,

Tell me about it! In the old days all I had to do was grab my smokes on the way out the door and even if I forgot them I could always stop on any corner and buy some Marls. No before I leave, I have to makes sure I have at least 3 flavors ready to go and the tanks topped off, at least 3 batts including an MVP and at least one replacement coil in case one goes bad. This is just for a 2 hour trip to the grocery store.......
