Is it me or are e-cig users more intelligent?

I don't think so. Lets face it vaping is not rocket science. The advanced among us do wrap thin bits of wire around skinny screwdrivers and drill bits and can plug a few numbers into an app someone else wrote. Anyone who has a passion for a hobby learns all they can about it and many of us enjoy doing so. I think we are a cross section of society. No smarter and no dumber. We are however much better looking than most.

I was just as intelligent when I used to smoke, it's just that people looked down on me because they could smell the stale cigarettes or saw me smoking. I was shown absolutely no respect. However, I dare anyone look down on me now that I vape, I'm not going to stand for that kind of treatment again!

Anyone else find the recent uproar about fat shaming a bit ridiculous considering how we treat smokers when smoking is 100 times more addictive than food...

I don't mean to say it for ego boosting, i just notice with a lot of members they seem more self aware and just in general more intelligent than the average person...

Not as a whole. Clearly you've never been to a vape meet. As much as you see intelligent, thoughtful people you also run into knuckle dragging, short bus candidates you wouldn't trust to watch a potted plant. Vapers run the entire intelligence spectrum.

Yep, but people's metabolisms are different and the battle of the bulge is exacerbated when ignorance is the rule of the day. I underwent chemotherapy for breast cancer right after I had my youngest son 26 years ago and have not been able to shed the pounds I gained from the medications because my body was thrown into menopause at the young age of 38. So am I going to have to suffer shaming because of overweight? Who is the judge and jury? And, what qualifies them to pass judgment on others?

Well you can live without smoking (as insanely uncomfortable as that might be), but that other thing, well.

I'd like to see what happens when people quit eating cold turkey... on the other hand, no I'd rather not. It would not be a pretty sight.

EDIT: I'm not talking about the "gobble-gobble" kind of turkey either.

Had to think back to my first impressions when joining. As I recall, it was something like: the members here seem #1 more helpful than other groups I've seen on the net, #2 more mature and, I confess, I thought that because of the collective wisdom I saw and, finally, #3 definitely more civil/polite than many places I had seen. So, I suppose, adding those together it could seem they're, collectively, more intelligent but often "intelligence" is gauged by logical approaches rather than emotional ones which really isn't a gauge at all but that's how it seems to go and there is an inordinate amount of logic coming from members it seems to me at least. Okay, all that said, I think some of it is simply due to good board moderating that keeps people, for the most part, polite and on target. Good moderation like that snowballs into people treating each other with humanity, kindness and compassion. That's my opinion only of course but I'm stickin to it.

E-cigarette reviews are more in-depth because there is more to say about them? How much detail can you actually go into regarding headphones?
I know vapers who are highly intelligent ("hard-science" majors; chemistry, biology, and physics, a long with a few engineers). I also know vapers who can make the stupidest of people seem intelligent. It's not the hobby, it's the person.

You sir, are not a audiophile. There is plenty to say about headphones. High, mids, lows, detail, sound staging, realism, comfort, accessories, features, technical aspects like resistance, whether the technical aspects mean you will need a headphone amp, what headphone amp would work best with it, again i could go on... Most reviews are ridiculous, the culture is different. Since Dres Beats came out a lot more ignorant people are giving reviews. They are some of the most overpriced fashion accessories i've ever seen, with terrible sound quality but that conversation is for another forum.

As far as I'm concerned, I think vapers are all up there on the intelligence scale. Quitting cigarettes and turning to vapor was, by far and without a doubt, one of the most important and intelligent decisions I have ever made, all things considered. I'm feelin pretty damn smart. :p
