Machine oil. Lol stop watching riptrippers. Unless it only rarely comes on authentics I dont know a single person who has ever had machine oil on a authentic or clone. If tobecco doesnt have machine oil then it must be rare.

Riptrippers is also the only big famous reviewer who mentions machine oil. Ive never heard busardo, gg, twister or suckmymod mention it. Thats part of the reason i laugh. Im guessing he got a dirty RDA once and now his weird a$S mentions it in every RDA review

Hmm read a thread on here within the last week where cleaning the atomizer fixed a guys problem with the same type of problem. Cleaning fixed his problem.

Have watched maybe 3 rip tripper vids hate the drama.
You seem to like drama though ?

I have 24 mg juice no headaches or anything else just sore throat I got the af almost closed cause I'm not a lung hitter right now it's a 1.9 ohm coil 4.0 v 8.55 watts I wouldn't think it would be that much of a difference I was using 1.5 ohm dual bottom coils on my evod 2 at 4.2 v I just don't get why the sore throat

It could be that the wicking isn't keep up with you and your vape is a bit too hot as a result.

the 1.5 at 4 volts is 6 watts

at 8.55 watts with the new coil you are getting more vape

Does sound like cleaning issue if it tastes like machining oil... I always clean any new tank, even the beginner tanks, then wipe thoroughly with paper towels, Q-tips and pipe cleaners to get as much of the water out of all parts. I did find that tight and loose wicking did give me a dry throat. Rip trippers can be a pain to watch if you don't get where he's coming from (he wants to be entertaining to keep the views up and it sounds like that worked in general), but I do live by ONE thing he has said a lot (in MY words): you want that wick to be easy to pull through. No too tight or plain loose, but easy enough to pull through.

I found that too thin a wick, I got dryer hits, sometimes burnt taste. Too tight, I got almost tasteless hits that irritated my throat, while it took some days to get a burnt tasting hit.. Good wicking will get so much better taste and consistent vape than a regular atomizer.

BTW, check out early Rip Trippers videos and he was boring. I'm not defending him, I'm just saying he went a tad overboard to keep the views up.

I actually do taste something like machine oil and I've read a lot of reviews on here about machine oil on these new lemos gotta be something to it

There could be anything on a new tank. Maybe they use detergent to wash off the manufacturing residue and don't rinse it well enough. Maybe they spray it with something to stop it rusting in transit. I reckon it's worth cleaning new tanks, just like I would always wash a new coffee cup.

When I got my Lemo I wanted to try it right away so I used it with the preinstalled coil and wick. I washed most of it but couldn't wash the coil deck. It had a funny taste for a while. Not really unpleasant and it went away eventually.

I once got a scratchy throat with no other symptoms. That was when I first started mixing my own juice. I put it down to vaping way more than normal because I was trying out 12 new flavours. Could have been one of the flavours, or pushing a lot of nic down my throat, or just the volume of warm vapour I was inhaling. It went away when I got over the new juice excitement and went back to my normal level of vaping.

Things like this happen. A lot of the time you never figure out the reasons.

All good suggestions...Here's another one Chi...did you dry burn that coil (without the cotton) prior to using it?

Pulse-burn it until it's red hot a few times next time you have it apart.. I always heat new coils until they glow for 5 seconds minimum prior to use.

You'd be amazed at the difference in taste and performance. Also when you do that observe the coil to see that it's heating properly. It should start the red glow in the center and move out. If not, squeeze gently with needle nose or tweezers after pulsing (but not while you're hitting the go button)--then pulse again and verify performance.

Once that's done you should notice a difference in "bite" and taste.

Also, make sure your wick is completely wet and put a drop on the coil... dry and/or unburnt coils can taste like metal. Coil materials can also come in bad quality types. Having a look at your wick can also give a clue: if it looks dark or burnt then you need to change that wick. It can be surprising how fast a wick might change color under the right (or wrong) circumstances.

I know, lots of info at once, but all great pointers by everyone. All factors need to be taken into consideration.
