Is it okay to clean cap threads with alcohol?

On my protege... sometimes when the atty leaks I want to clean the threads of the endcap... I hear conflicting reports about using a cotton swab of alcohol... some say it's good, some say it will rot the black ring at the bottom...

any help?

I been using PGA / Everclear for over 6 months and I've not noticed any detrimental effects on the Derlin.

I clean a lot of vape materials with the stuff.

I think regular rubbing / Isopropyl Alcohol leaves an unpleasant taste.

I find that mouthwash works really well for me, when I don't have any contact cleaner available.

I bet mouthwash would work good. Probably leave a clean taste too

if you are just cleaning the threads it is fine to use.
