Got my 510 a few days ago. I know only experience can answer many questions, but this one seems appropriate:

I am trying many different cart mods: blue foam (darts and plugs), tea bag darts, etc. with varying levels of success. Sometimes, when nothing is working right(low vapor, hot dry hits), I'll remove the cart (now empty) and battery and blow like hell through the battery end of the atty.... WOW!!! Look how much brown liquid crap comes out! I seriously think I have dumped more juice into a paper towel than I have actually vaped over the past 5 days.

Is this because the cart mods I'm using are not tight enough and the juice overflows into the atty? I'm not hearing any gurgling. I have tried all kinds of draw techniques, as well. From light, long draws to the initial fast draw followed by a light one to putting on an empty cart and ripping the $%&*@!! out of it.

Also, sometimes (more often than not) when I do hear gurgling, I'll remove the cart and blow like hell through the mouthpiece only to discover a bunch of juice trapped in the tail-end of the cart that comes sputtering out the two side vents.

I am trying desperately to NOT overfill the carts. It seems like no matter what I do, I keep getting unfavorable results.

Any suggestions on what to try? I ran water through the two oldest (5 days) carts and blew them out and dried them. Re-primed with two drops on the atty. Attached fresh cart(blue foam slug). Same experience. Low vapor, dry hits.

Argh.

Thanks for any help!!

Hi Sound.
One can very easily flood their atomizer and not know it. It is very easy to do especially when trying different cartridge material. Try taking your atomizer and standing it cartridge side down on a piece of paper towel overnight. You will be surprised how much e-liquid seeps out overnight.

I think, in your particular case, the issue is one of the cartridge material. Too dense and the e-liquid will not wick down to the nickle bridge. And too loose, the e-liquid floods the atomizer almost immediately.
Try perfecting your cartridge mods or in the alternative stay with the factory cartridges. Another option is to "drip smoke". By that, you just place two drops in the atomizer and use the tip of the cartridge without any core, and vape away. I have been doing this for many months now as

I got tired of dealing with cartridges all together. I get a great throat hit and I notice that there is no harmful effects on the atomizer.
The only other cause could be that your atomizer's nickle bridge no longer has the capability to wick e-liquid due to normal use and needs to be replaced if cleaning it does not work.

Hope that Helps!!
