This particular flavor has also caused the tank to leak, somehow, but once I replace the Cartomizer, it's good as new again. Is it common to have liquids do this? What could be the problem?
Is it possible to have a "bad" e-liquid that messes up wicks without even being used?

Without knowing what flavor, type of tank (glass/plastic) or wick, it's hard to answer your question.
Some flavors such as cinnamon and wintergreen will eat plastic and cause plastic tanks to leak but gunking up a wick or coil not being used I haven't heard of before, that is if you are talking about a new wick & coil. Need more info.
