theres certain chemicals that make certain food flavorings unsafe. theres a list somewhere about them, i know a bunch of buttery flavored flavorings are unsafe to inhale. i just order whatever is on ecigexpress for DIY stuff, they mostly carry stuff that are safe for DIY. I wouldnt just buy random food flavorings at food markets personally as those are made for consumption and mostly contain stuff that is unstudied or unsafe for inhalation

Alot of the flavorings at the grocery stores are not very strong, and they usually have alot of stuff you dont want in your lungs in them, like xanthun gum, caramel color, sugar, etc.,if your just looking to add flavor to your juices, check out the diy section. There are alot of suppliers that sell good flavors, and you can get them pretty cheap.I buy 8ml bottles of flavors for $1.50 and these are very strong concentrated flavorings,so 8ml goes a long way.

Safe? In general - no. You do not want to be inhaling vaporized food colorings which are a common ingredient in food flavorings. Some of them contain oil based flavors - another thing you don't want to inhale. They can also contain additives that are high in sugar content - which can trash a wick and coil in a matter of hours. And the actual flavoring to water/alcohol ratio is so low you won't get the flavor results you want anyway.
