I just got my first mech mod, a king v2 from infinite from a local vape shop and when I bought it I also bought a charger and two batteries. They gave me to ICR Li-Ion batteries, here's what the battery has sprinted on it: ICR 18650- 32A 3.7V SAMSUNG SDI 2DB4 and im currently using a BCC mega tank with a 1.8 ohms coil. My question is if im safe using that coil with it and if it would be safe to use it with a 2.2 coil? Also is it safe to leave the battery inside mod? Right now I'm carrying it in my pocket but I keep getting paranoid and everytime i take it out my pocket I open it and take out the battery lol. Anyway thanks in advance!

Yes, if you go higher in resistance, you will be fine. It's going lower in resistance that will not be safe, so sub-ohm vaping is out of the question until you get some safer batteries. I'm surprised they sold you ICR... They should know better with mechanicals...

Yeah I started reading here about ICRs and I thought wow they suck and im not going to go subohms ill probably stay at 1.5-2.2ohms

Oh ok so should i not keep the battery there if I dont have a kick? Right now my mod has the battery inside and its sitting in my pocket o_o should I take it out?

no, you're fine, the kick is just a little chip that regulates power to the atty.
as long as the lock is on, you can leave the battery in there.

No no, you can keep the battery in there. The firing pin lock just makes it so when you have your battery in and put it in your pocket, it won't fire.

You will be good going up to 2.2 ohm coils, may I ask why though? Those will change the vape quite a bit, and will produce less vapor.

Hey thanks I appreciate this info cause I was reading about batteries last night and it made me kinda paranoid since I have two ICR I also didnt know if they were safe to use with my coils. I did the math but I didnt how to find out if my battery could handle it.

That coil is a brand new coil for my protank 2 its a stock coil. Its what I was using on my itaste v3 and I got lazy to change it with a 1.5ohms coil head that I rebuild for my protank 2 lol but right now im using a 1.8 coil on a BCC mega tank. Soon ill be getting the crown RDA though and now that I think about it what ohms coils do you suggest i build for since i wont be getting a new battery for a while.

ICRs are ok as long as you don't have a short. If you feel any warmth take them out of you mod and set down outside (if shorted they will go in to thermal runaway and blow up) with higher resistance premade coils this is very unlikely. and your metal tube will let you know if you are haveing any issues.

Yeah i notice this the night that I got it. I pop my protank 2 on it and it would work but I would barely get any vapor or non and then i notice the firing button was hot and the tube was a little warm around the firing button so I took the battery out and it was warm too so I set it side and use the other one and I had almost the same experience but the battery didnt get as hot. I thought wow ... that doesnt seem right at first I thought i adjust the top contact to tight so I made it lose but that would cause it to raddle to much and finally beforr giving up I decide to open the firing button to check the spring and after removing it and putting back on it seem to have fix it cause after that my tanks were purring and putting out good clouds.

You're very welcome, glad you had the smarts to come here and ask for help.

from what i could find about your battery (32A 3.7V SAMSUNG SDI 2DB4) it appears to have about a 6 amp max discharge. so if you're going to be getting an RDA like you said, you'll have to do the math (ohms law) to make sure that what ever coils you build aren't too low of a resistance.

but my advice, when you buy an RDA, pick up a couple of better batteries, just to be safe, because once you start playing with RDAs, you'll probably be temped to play around with sub ohming... this way, you'll already have batteries that can handle that.

Yeah after reading in the threads here about batteries I know for sure that this ICRs are going to be getting a lot of use because Im going to get some new batteries and once I get some RDAs I know im not going the sub ohms route because to me risking my face over some bigger clouds doesnt seem worth it lol so ill probably build coils that dont go lower than 1ohms ill stay with in 1.3 - 1.8ohms just to stay safe you know? And thanks for taking some time to research about the batteries I got.
