Just be careful. If you're using a coil of 1.8 ohm or over no problem - but when you go to bed take the battery out. Why not try a regulated mod? They're much safer. Unless you sub-ohm mechs are all very 2009 imho. :)

↑ accurate!

but with a name like Cloud Hunter I'd say it's safe to assume he'll probably want to sub ohm.

@CloudhunterIVI - according to the very halfassed calculations I just did with an online Ohms law calc, you should be able to go down to at least a 1.0 Ω without hitting your max amperage for that battery.

BUT!!! Two important points:

1) definitely check my math on that before you try
2) just because you can, doesn't mean you should -- if you're going to get anywhere close to subohming you should invest in some better batteries just to be safe.

That coil is a brand new coil for my protank 2 its a stock coil. Its what I was using on my itaste v3 and I got lazy to change it with a 1.5ohms coil head that I rebuild for my protank 2 lol but right now im using a 1.8 coil on a BCC mega tank. Soon ill be getting the crown RDA though and now that I think about it what ohms coils do you suggest i build for since i wont be getting a new battery for a while.

If you are going to start building on an RDA I would keep your Ohms right where they are. I would probably not go below 1.2 Ohms. Batteries are cheap though if you order online. Just go to MyFreedomSmokes and get some 30Amp+ 2000MAH+ IMR 18650 Batteries, I think they are like $11.95.

Here's a little excerpt from this article: Mechanical Mod Proper Usage Guide

'In terms of safety the difference between the two (ICR and IMR) is the chemical composition in these batteries. ICR can catch fire at a faster rate than IMRs because they are simply more combustible. ICR are also generally known to stress more easily than IMR.'

With mechanical mods, battery safety is extremely important! You do not want an ICR, or any battery for that matter, to combust in your face.

I've been doing this for the pass 3 days (thats how long its been since I bought it) I always take out the battery when Im going to sleep or when I'm not using it cause I wouldn't want to wake to an explosion lol hmm as for your suggestion I think im already on it, next im going to buy an Itaste MVP that way my itaste v3 does feel lonely lol

The MVP v2 is a great choice! Enjoy. :)

The MVP v2 is a great box mod.

The only downside in my opinion is that it does not have interchangeable batteries. May not matter to most people, but I like having the same batteries for all my mods so I don't have to worry about what's charged and what's not, and if a battery dies while i'm out-n-about I can just pop a new battery in.

Lol yeah my name here implies that but trust me sub ohms to me seems like to much work and stress i rather keep it safe and not go below 1.2ohms and gettin better batteries is something that im going to do probably with in the next two weeks

I used to be where you are-- very fearful of subohming and the risks associated, but as I learned more about the batteries, and experimented myself, I got more comfortable with the idea. Of course the video I watched comparing a dead short on an ICR vs IMR helped quite a bit. If I can find the video again, I'll post the link.

You may get to a point where you change your tune on subohming. Not that i'm trying to push you in that direction.

lol dude, sub-ohm vaping is amazing! It's actually really cool learning how to build your coils and adjust resistance through different coil mechanics. There's no stress in it if you have the right batteries.

I can't wait to see how all these high wattage (50w +) chips that are coming out of China soon hold up. I like the idea of subohming on a regulated mod.
