Hello everyone! So, a little history about my vaping journey... I started out on Ego styled tanks like most of us did a couple years ago and recently purchased my 1st RBA, the Kayfun Mini. Having used this new RBA for about 2 weeks now, I realize I can never again use anything other than a rebuildable. I've been vaping it with a Vision Spinner 1300mah battery. The spinner is great, it lasts all day no matter how much I use it and has never let me down.
Will a better mod provide me with more vapor over my spinner? I usually vape a 1.5 ohm coil at 4.3 volts and its great. But I think I want more. I have been thinking about getting a better power delivery system and no matter how much I research, I just can't seem to decide on one. I would like a mech/mod that is vv/vw, has a built in ohms meter and literally lasts a normal work day. I would like it to be as small as possible and not extremely expensive. I also need it to be able to do sub ohm coils. I haven't found the need to go sub ohm yet but if/when I do, I don't want to have to buy a new device to do it. As much as I love this Kayfun Mini, I can easily see myself in the near future probably getting a full sized RBA.
So, is there a mod out there that fits the description of what I'm after? I appreciate any suggestions that you fine folks can give.

Are you looking for something regulated, or mechanical? And am I right in assuming that $70 includes batteries, and a charger?

I really don't know...I'd like it to be completely adjustable. I want to be able to use a low ohm (1.1–1.5ohm) coil one day and still be able to fire a .5 ohm coil the next. As far as price goes, the cheaper the better for me, without sacrificing too much quality. I'd prefer a tube type but I'm open to box styles as well. I realize batteries and a charger are usually extra.

If you're happy at 1.5 ohm levels, going over 5 volts or 20 watts will pretty much fry your coil fairly quickly, in my experience at least. I prefer 1.8 ohm myself and while my current mod goes up to six volts / 15 watts, I never have to exceed 4.2 - 4.3 volts to get a satisfying vape. I still use my 1300 mAh spinner a lot as well, which lasts a good 5 hours of HEAVY vaping (I take a toot at least once a minute, sometimes every 30 secs depending on stress). If you're looking at sub ohming to get mongo clouds, that's a different issue of course. Here's a chart I find useful when I'm building my own coils - hope it helps!

Hmm, that didn't post correctly. Here's a link to the chart: http://i.imgur.com/Ohn8o.png

How soon into sub-ohming are you planning to start? An MVP2 can handle much of what you're wanting right now and is reasonably priced. It'll fire 1.1-3 ohms with no problems, has a built in ohm reader, vv/vw, and counts the number of puffs you take. It also has the capability to charge Iphones and such with an internal battery of 2600mAh. If you really want to get something for sub-ohming you could wait and save your money and be ready to pay for all the extras that are needed such as batteries, charger, ohm meter, voltage meter, kanthal, etc....., maybe even a new RBA/RDA.

Sub-ohming can probably wait a while i think. I already have a quality multi-meter and plenty of Kanthol. Having a mod with a built in ohms meter i think is just more of a convenience thing at this point. Another thing im wondering...with a better mod actually give me a better quality vape than im already getting from my Spinner? Sometimes, even after a full charge, the vape quality seems to diminish a bit with my Spinner. But if i borrow my wife's identical battery, it seems to improve. Maybe my Spinner is going bad. Either way, if i need a new battery, i want one that fits my needs. Ill check out the MVP2 and read up on some reviews.

CNA 30/clouper DNA clone
or
MVP 2.0

I recommend the CNA mod, because you seem to have an interest in higher wattage vaping..at least, it sounds like you want MORE. The mod has a minimum output of 7 watts and 4 Volts..so you'll have to have a resistance of at least ~2.3Ohms to not be forced to vape higher than 7watts.

You will have a better experience with the MVP than your spinner, as far as regulation and accuracy goes, but I'm sure you've already experienced what the MVP essentially has to offer in terms of vaping power, just from using your spinner.

PM me if you have any questions..both mods have ohmmeter, charge via USB(CNA can have a removable 18650 battery, or a non-removable li-po pack, depending on full size or mini version..), both are boxes.. One can charge your cell phone, while the other doesn't waste your battery for silly things other than vaping..

If you want to vape constantly around 6-11Watts, go with the MVP...but it's really hard for you to figure out if that's what you want just by some text on a forum.. It would be best if you could go to some shops to hold them, and maybe even try out the gear..

In common parlance, a mech is a battery holder, switch and fittings. Unless you add a Kick, it has NO adjustment or measuring capabilities. So if you want those features, you're looking at a regulated mod. Most of those have protection circuits that will shut them down around the 1 Ω level. Most of them will have the other features you list.

While stepping up from your Spinner may be a good choice for you, bear in mind that the KF wasn't designed as a fog machine, but as a flavor one. But what are you using for wick? That can make a difference in the amount of vapor and the taste. Coil "design" can also be a big factor, i.e. gauge of Kanthal, compressed, micro...

And the PG/VG ratio of your flavor can also have an effect. In general, the higher the VG the more the vapor.

From personal experience I would have to recommend you start with either the iTaste VV 3.0 or the MVP 2.0. At $35 and $70 respectively (varying by where you buy them) they provide all those features and perform very well. Many people will try to tell you to get something more expensive and high end, but those get the job done at a better price and most people that get either of these products end up still finding use for them long after they've moved on to bigger and better mods. My 0.02.

^good point...I always forget the vv3.0 got dropped way after the mvp did.. I think authentic ones can be found for $25 online.. with the mvp always being seen for $40.

Same exact thing as mvp, smaller package (smaller battery also.. about 1/3 the mvp's battery.. I'd say it's even smaller than that though).. without a usb output.. which is dumb.. unless it's ~70Amp hours.. I'm not going to use my ecig to charge other electronics.

I hate bottom firing mech mods... I just dont like the way you fire them ( Im weird i guess ) I got a 12 dollar 18650 BOLT clone from FT that has been perfect every single time without fail.

I have 2 MVP version 2... I can vape about anything on them... I am vaping a kayfun lite clone and a nimbus clone at around 1ohms on one of them.

I recently got a provari with 18650 extention, batteries and charger for 100$ on ebay, and an Itaste VTR with the ring removed ( So it fits the kayfun and nautilus ) for 35 bucks...

You dont have to spend a fortune... for my money not much has out performed my 39$ ( on sale ) MVP... heck I charge my phone with it regularly... I cant vape sub ohm... but i dont really need to... heck even the nautilus BVC coils vape amazing at 5 volts on the MVP ( or so i have been told )...

go over to FT, and read read read reviews... some items have bad reviews, some have amazing reviews... for my money the reviews have been pretty dead on...

Considering where I am at in my vaping journey, and taking into consideration where I might end up in the future, the more I read up on the latest DNA30 clones and what they are capable of, the more I become interested in them. Can anyone with experience with these comment on how long a good battery will last?
