Purchased start kit (blu) 2.5 weeks ago. The kit came with 2 atomizers and I think both are dead because really no vapor being produced from either. Looked at both of them and while I did not see any visible residue on either one, one has two little bumps on outside part and the other looks like the inside metal part has pulled away from the brillo pad outside part. I have not dipped either and only have used them with blu cartridges. Called customer service and they said they should last about a year. Although they did offer to replace them...I don't want to keep going through atomizers. I know many of you are going to tell me to switch to another mfg. but I have already invested quite a bit of $ in cartridges (was afraid of the long ship time I read in other posts which doesn't seem to be an issue anymore). Once I use up all the cartridges I will probably switch to a 510 (a lot of you say that this is a good one). I just would like to get through the ones I have without buying a dozen or so more atomizers. It's kind of driving me crazy because I'm never sure if it's the atomizer or the cartridge (know it's not the battery). I am on a new atomizer now but still the product seems inconsistent. Some cartridges last all day while others only last for the equiv. of 3 to 4 cigarettes. You have to wait at least 1 to 2 minutes between puffs a lot of times to get good draw (again, I know that this is characteristic of this mfg.) I am willing to put up with this drawback until I can order a new type kit but would really like to know how to troubleshoot this product until then.

Does anyone have pictures of what the atomizer might look like when it needs to be cleaned or is damaged? I haven't cleaned either of mine since I was afraid to do it since Blu states they are self-cleaning.

I really want to stick to this alternative to smoking since it keeps me at 0 withdrawl symptons vs. the patch and the gum. Even if I don't quit nicotine completely, I can live with this way life.
