Hi guys!

I bought a GGTS with an AVS about a year ago. Never got the AVS to work but was so happy with the GGTS that I forgot all about it.

Now it's a new year and I want to get it working!

The problem is that the atty won't fire. Never has. From looking around at different tutorials and wikis I've come to the conclusion that the AVS tank subassembly (labelled "2" here) is defective.

Here is a couple of pics of my part: one and two

Here is another pic I found of someone else's, where the center post rises much higher.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The picture of your part is for a 510 atty. The external threads on your part are for a juice control ring that uses the 801 size atty threads.

The picture of the part you showed is a 901/808 atty connector. Notice on the "other" picture, there ar no threads inside the connector and the center pin must come up higher to contacf the 901/808 base.

I think if you try a 510 atty you will see your part does work. ;)

Yes Major is correct yours is a 510 adapter with a missing juice controll ring and the one pictured is a 901 adapter.

Also if you are screwing 510 attys onto it and it won't fire it is probably because you need to tighten the center (posative) pin. It adjusts to make comtact with the atomizer. However without the controll ring it is going to probably dump juice. I will link my writeup in a sec when I find it on how to use the AVS in 510 mode

AVS 510 Assembly

1. Loosen the posative pin from the 510 connector and turn down the juice controll ring all the way so the gaps ae showing.

2. Put the 510 atomizer extender on the atty.

3. Next put on the 510 atomizer firmly.

4.Tighten the posative pin back up to make connection with the atomizer and screw the juice controll ring all the way back up so the juice gaps are covered. Then turn it back down maybe 1/8 of a turn

5. Put the atomizer and connector on the tank.

6. Thread the tank onto the ggts and close the air controll completely.

7. Fill the tank with juice.

8. Put on the tank cap.

9. Put on the tank cap o-ring.

10. Put on the o-ring top cap.

11. Put on the mouthpiece. (some people have found completely tightening then backing off 1/4 turn helps)

Easier said than done.... I've got the pin with the black plastic part separated from the rest but can't get the pin out of the plastic piece. I'll try to scrounge up some pliers (and apply them to the non-thread site of the pin.) Other than that, any tips on getting it out?

btw thanks TONS for your help! I've been stymied by this thing for what seems like an eternity :toast:

That connector is not designed for 901 stuff no.

However that being said judging by your origional post it sounds like you did thread a 901 atomizer onto it is this correct?

If so I have an idea that may or may not work if you want to try it.
Judging by your origional post the 901 threads on but doesn't fire. If that is so it is because the pin is not long enough. You may be able to unscrew the origional pin and find a longer one at the local hardware store that is a bit longer and use it that way. Again I havn't tried this so there is no guarantee but it should work in theory.

The pin should just screw right out if it doesn't it may be locked up so maybe try soaking it in alcahol or something like that.

Again though it isn't designed to work with a 901 so getting it to may take a little innovation and like I said it looks like your juice controll ring is missing for proper use with a 510.

This is really tantalizing. I had an old LR 510 atty in my junk box and after putting everything together according to your (awesome) pics, I can confirm that it fires. The atty looks slightly off-center when I reach step 10, but the o-ring may prevent that from being a problem. I'll have to wait for a new battery and/or 510 atty in the mail though, because the LR one is the only 510 I have and RCR123s are the lowest-voltage batteries I have
