So i this morning i flew to a different state, and i put my vape in a plastic bag along with the battery (this was probably dumb). I just opened it and saw that a little juice had leaked from the vape and is on the battery. I dried the battery completely but it does have a bit of a darker stain on the skin. Is it still safe to use? I may not be able to buy a new one or new skin because the relatives I’m staying with don’t know I vape and I’m with them basically the whole time. Please let me know if i can still use the battery or if it will possibly explode ?! Maybe I’m just overreacting and it’s fine, but I’ve seen mixed responses online.

As long as the plastic wrap is intact and you dry it off it should very likely be good to go. If there is any doubt and there was a lot of juice that could have gotten under the wrap (unlikely) then you could always re-wrap the battery.

Get a $1 plastic battery case for it

For future reference, it's a best practice to leave the battery in the device it's meant to power and make sure the device is powered off. If you do have to remove the battery, store it in a case made for it, or use some other non-metallic, non-conductive something or the other. A ziploc bag works in a pinch, but store nothing else in the same container. There are battery cases designed to hold multiple batteries and it's ok to store two, four, six or whatever in those.

Look at the blogs by @Mooch, @Baditude and @IMFire3605 for all you ever wanted to know about batteries we use for vaping.

You've gotten good advice, Gabi Logan. I have vaped batteries that have gotten a bit wet with e-liquid and I just dried them off, and wiped them clean and made sure no e-liquid was underneath the wraps. Rewrapping a battery is quite easy and you can find tutorials online. Next time you order batteries, do so from a reputable supplier and they should come with a case, usually (I use IMRbatteries.com and they routinely send battery cases and extra wraps. If you look at Mooch's blog you will see on the chart of "approved" batteries a list of reputable suppliers. Good luck, and yes if not traveling in the mod, batteries need a safe home (usually a battery case, if needed in a pinch a THICK ziplock bag.

Hi and welcome. If the wrapper is intact and you have wiped it dry, you should be good to go. Any chance of a picture?
Here’s a picture of the battery... i put it in the vape and everything seems to be working properly but all the horror stories of vapes exploding has me nervous! I’m not able to get a new wrap for the next 2 weeks, do you think it’s safe to continue using in the meantime ?

If the battery was going to make you pay for that little mistake, it would have done so when it got wet. As long as it's dry when you use it, it's good.
Hi, so i put it in the vape and I’m able to use it just fine... but as you’ll see in the pic i attach it has a few darks spots. I tried to research and found mixed answers on whether it’s still safe to use. What do you think?

It's fine, some liquid must have got underneath the wrapper it won't hurt anything. The wrap is translucent so anything underneath the wrap will show. You can always re-wrap it if it bothers you.

I am glad it is working out for you. Just be mindful of it and if you put your mod in your pocket or purse be sure to shut the mod totally off before you do. And never put loose(spare) batteries in your purse or pocket without being in a plastic case. Coins, keys, etc can complete the circuit and cause the battery to discharge and explode. Practice good safety measures and you will enjoy your vape for a good while.

I wouldn't hesitate to use that one. I would also rewrap it ASAP.
