So I think my carto is dead really. lol

Went to use a refilled carto and my battery went dead. No big deal, changed batteries and that one went dead. Oh no I only have two so I start freaking out thinking the charger has gone bad. (I rotate batteries so one is always charged yk)
So I go and get one of the husbands batteries ... It's dead to. Grumble grumble because his other battery is on his charger. So I'm going to have to wait.
He says his is charged and uses it.
So after going back and forth lol it is the carto I am trying to use ... Put it on a battery and the battery dies. A different carto works on all the batteries....

SO the carto is not killing the batteries?

May be one of these:

- center post of carto is in too far
- carto has liquid int he threaded area
- carto has a short (like because maybe somebody used condom method or poked something into the carto stuffing or threaded end?
I use the condom method...is it not good for cartos?

I fill mine by placing a toothpick into the airhole and have never had one short on me yet. Of course I always remove the toothpick when done but I also don't jam it in...just snug to help prevent the juice going down the hole. No problems here with doing it this way.

The ones that I've had short were before I started filling this way. I just drip into the top and don't use any other method.

Re condom method - one guy who used to promote it decided it could sometimes shorten the life of cartos. Anything forced in has the potential to push two wires together that shouldn't be together.

Also - screwing KR8 batteries too far onto chargers can sometimes depress the center post of the threaded end adding to contact problems.
