I have been ordering from SmokeTip because of the policy of sending free batteries every 3 pack of refill cartridges. It would be fantastic...
However, I can not get more then one (rarely two) use out of any of them. It's starting to really grate on my nerves.
I get a new battery, attach a carto, and it works fine. Once it dies, I charge it up, and it seems to go fine (takes about 3 hours and the charger goes "green").
Next time I plug it into a carto and try to take a drag it "flashes dead". When I put it back on the charger it shows charged.
Sometimes I will get two charge, smoke, re-charge cycles before this happens. Always the same pattern. Smoke, recharge, shows both charged and dead at the same time depending on if it's screwed into the charger or the carto.
I do notice that the little white rubber washer seems off center, but I havn't been able to get anything into that little space to try to move it. Can that cause the problem? How can I get it out of there to tell?
I just RMA'd two of them (the most they let you RMA). Once those get back to me and stop working (I'm not hopeful), I will have went through SEVEN one-time-use SmokeTip batteries.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this happens, or what I can do to help? I'd follow their cleaning instructions, but everything looks brand new... after all, it is.
I have been using the batteries from my "instant-e-cig" that I bought in a store; with the smoketip carto's. This works fine, and I have yet to have a problem with those batteries after almost two months.
I will keep doing this, but it is a shame. SmokeTip has some cool accessories. I'd love to buy a travel charger case (which houses a battery capable of charging your carto-battery two times), for the rare times when I forget to charge one before I go to sleep. The instant batteries are a little longer, and wouldn't fit.
Not to mention the free batteries are the reason I went with SmokeTip in the first place. The only reason I keep ordering from them is that the carto's themselves are decently cheap.
If anyone knows anything, I'd appreciate it.
