is my coil burnt?

I'm using a DCT on my LavaTube and I noticed that however I lower the voltage being fed, I can still taste that burning coil. I also notice that the juice inside my tank starts to get darker. I have no idea what is the resistance of my coil so I don't know at which voltage feed should I set my LT.

Would you suggest that I throw away this one and just get a new prepunched cartomizer for my tank?

Your response are greatly appreciated.

One of the reasons you smoked the brand of analogs was the taste. When you become a vaper, the flavor world opens up to many things. Don't short-change yourself on disposable things. Toss it and try a new one. I've read many posts where folks take some tweaking to get the volts + Ohms right to produce the good wattage for the juice. Takes a little tweaking, but you can do it, others do.

how long have you used that carto? I've noticed if I try to chain vape my tank I will start to get dry hits so I either have to reprime the cart or let my tank rest. try your tank on a different mod reprime the cart and see if the taste persists.

Been using it for 4 days... The first time I tried it, I had that faint taste of the "burnt coil", I just thought at that time that I might have set it on a high voltage. But when I notice the discoloration, that was when I suspected the burning coil...

I guess I just need to get a new set of cartos and dump this one.

Is it the carto that comes with the tank? If so that's a 1.5ohm dual coil, which is a very low resistance for a VV device and will greatly limit the voltage you can use for it. Try using a 3.0ohm carto as that will allow you to use a wide range of voltages with it.

Also what is the PG/VG ratio of the juice your using? The pre-punched hole is very small and will only feed mostly PG juices well. If its a thicker high VG juice you need to punch the hole bigger.
And did you fill the carto correctly before you filled the tank? Bc if not your likely to get a burnt taste. It's not the coil that gives the burnt taste. It's that you burnt the filler and/or wick bc the carto got too dry which will cause a nasty burnt taste.
That could be from chainvaping and/or the tank is not feeding juice fast enough to the carto.
Are you doing dry pulls? Dry pulls are very important to get a tank to work correctly, especially I'd your using higher VG juices. Sometimes even when the punched hole is big enough, the tank isn't feeding enough juice on its own to keep the carto constantly wet. Doing dry pulls periodically will force juice into the carto so it stays constantly wet

Hmmm... This might be the cause... I'm using a VG based juice and it's the small hole... Also, I don't do dry pulls (first time I heard about it). Well, I think this carto will be "charged to experience"... lol
