Is taste really that subjective?

I know everyone says taste is subjective...but I feel like there's almost something wrong with me.

Several liquids I've bought at the recommendation of others or after reading reviews have not been even close to their description. And I've tried different delivery systems with the same result. And very few juices have any taste on inhale for me. (Only cinnamon and minty juices have and they're delicious but don't play nice with my asthma.)

I have so much stuff laying around that turning all brown and syrup-like from not getting used. Anyone else gone thru this? I'm almost 6 months into vaping at this point and my taste buds are still rebelling.

I have ran into this problem.....Are most flavors not good? Muted? Or taste nothing at all like they are supposed to? I will base this on flavors being muted since you said you could taste cinnamon and mint just fine...I found that flavors have to be pretty loud for me, I recently ordered from Mt Baker vapor and they offer extra flavor shots and what a difference! I only added one flavor shot and everything I ordered was really good. I too have juices just collecting dust because they were so mild I got nothing from them....It can't taste like it should if you can't taste it at all :) I would suggest ordering a few samples from a vendor that lets you pump up the volume on flavor and see how that goes....don't get carried away, if you get too much extra flavor it can be perfume/chemical tasting. Good luck!

I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've tried juices and even vendors that just didn't deliver for me. I DO believe tastes are subjective. If asthma is a problem you may want to speak with a doctor before taking advise from an online forum. Have you tried either 100% VG or 100% PG yet ? Perhaps you could ask/ read ingredients to see if there is something in e-juices that are not agreeing with you. Again, if asthma is a concern your doctor would give you better advice than I could. I personally have found AltCig and HHV to be flavorful vapes. Also, there are such things as flavor-shots. But either way, Vaping still has to be better than smoking. Good Luck and don't give up !

I have played with some PG/VG ratios and it's helped a lot. I also noticed skipping menthol or cool hit helped (which was a bummer because I always smoked menthol analogs). I'm still using my inhaler less, just some of the flavors I like kind of irritate my throat. Not my lungs. I should have explained that better, lol.

I guess taste is somewhat subjective. I can't stand licorice, but some people love it. I don't like cinnamon in a juice either. I don't I like the desert sweet juices many go for. About the only juices like are the fruits and citrus.

Some people will cringe at mountain oysters, but I like them. (Not in a juice though)!

It is frustrating. For now, just stick with a flavor that's acceptable. Don't look to fall in love. Do you have 1 or 2 that are OK?

When all else fails, unflavored really isn't bad at all. Doesn't sound like it would be, but it's not bad at all. Sometimes I vape unflavored or add a couple drops of lemon flavoring.

Luckily I have a few I like, maybe I need to just order big jugs of them and call it a day and quit looking!

Trust the Lady. For she speaks the truth. Learned the hard way. Unflavored and toss in a breath mint. All can be good.

Vape some unflavored. Juicy Vapor is 2 mins away from me, and a few months ago I picked up 70mL of plain VG, 70mL of plain PG, and some 48mg nic juice. I use it to increase the nic level in juices, thicken or thin them out, or dilute them a bit. I have also made up some unflavored in different mix ratios, and its actually not bad at all.

I hear u and I have been right where u are. Its terribly frustrating to get excited about juices only to find them unvapeable. And until u can walk into a brick and mortar shop and test them yourself before u buy, its pretty much a crap shoot.
The best thing I can suggest is to look through reviews here and try to find someone who has tastes similar to yours. I mean for me there are lots of reviewers I like to read or watch on you tube but I can tell from the juices they like that their flavor profile does not match mine. For instance there is a huge Ry4 thread and I like reading it but I don't buy anything because I don't vape tobacco at all.
I myself am pretty much a rich, sweet, sticky bakery type vape girl, throw in some horchata, and some chai with some really good vanilla and a dash of cinnamon here and there and I am a happy camper.
I can also suggest spin fuel e magazine, they do reviews of flavors and instead of just getting one persons opinion here is what they do. There are 5 or 6 of them and they all get several samples from one vendor. They all use different types of gear at different volts. They all vape these juices for a certain amount of time, then they all get together and they review each juice. Its a really great read and its wonderful to get more than one persons opinion of a juice without hunting all over for it. They have reviewed allot of ecf vendors too Totally Wicked, The Vapor Girl, Mt Baker Vapor, Alice in Vapeland, Ahlusion. Well u get my point, lol.
Like I said I know its frustrating, but at least being a member here u can get information, and if that still doesn't work, u always have the classifieds or the pif thread.
Good luck to u!! :)

Its just you your weird;-) I use to think there was a conspiracy that people were just saying certain juices were good because they did not want to admit they wasted their money and wanted me to waste mine! Then one day I got some peach menthol it tasted like bug spary to me. I gave it to a friend and he loved it. buys a 30ml every other week or so.
Ive been to other countries Taste is very subjective! Ever herd of balut egg? Filipinos love it its a duck ege with the duck growing inside! I tried it but just could not get past the idea of what I was eating. So yes taste is that subjective.

Taste is very subjective. Bobas bounty from alien visions for instance. It is supposed to be a "tobacco" type vape and I taste absolutely NO tobacco in it. Mostly just chocolate is what I get from it. Reading other reviews on it I must be crazy.

Also if taste was not subjective then they would not sell olives in grocery stores. Those things are DISGUSTING!!

I am not extremely fussy about flavor because if I'm getting nicotine I'm ok. Ive only had one that was extremely raunchy at i would ot say it had a problem with mutedness. Ill say it. pink Spot . A signature flavor. But it was highly recommended. So is taste subjective? Very.
Taste for me varies from day to day for whatever reason too, sinuses mostly I suspect. Vaping gives me a little cotton mouth so I suck candy with it often. So if my DIY isn't so great who cares. Suck candy with it. (. :
I would be frustrated if ALL my. Apes were bland and weird tasting. A lot of candy!

Don't think of it as money wasted-think of it as an investment. I have tons of bottles I will never vape, and after 6 months of vaping, I have finally found 1 or 2 that I can vape all day. It took a lot of trial and error. But then I remember how long it took me to "like" the taste of a cigarette and to learn how to smoke the "right" way...it is worth the aggravation-to me, anyway. I haven't had a cig in almost 6 months, and I have finally found my regular brand. You will, too. If it was easy, then it wouldn't be so cool! :)

I had a problem finding something i liked, because I don't like the fruity or candy stuff, and the "tobacco" stuff tastes like fog machine for the most part at first-you know? There is no way to replicate the taste of a cig without burning paper and tobacco for real. But I finally came across a few flavors my taste buds agree with.
