I have a nice collection of Kanger clearos... all minis except one PT3. Don't like the PT2 mini (too airy), and the PT3 mini is better while not oustanding. The PT3 normal size is ... ok, I guess, since I finally managed to keep it from gurgling and leaking. But they're not exceptionally good.

Then I got a couple of new aerotanks minis and boy, what a difference. I love them, but I need something a tad bigger. The Mega is too big, so I ordered a normal sized aerotank. But I understand it was released in December or so and doesn't have the same design as the mini and the mega. At least the airflow valve is not the newest one. Is there any other difference ?

Is it as good as the mini, or will I have to buy a mega ?

I also ordered a spare airflow valve for my PT3 - will it make it the same as an aerotank ?

Interesting... would you mind explaining why ?

Sorry, I wanted to explain but was in a rush.

1- The Aero has a rubbery taste to it. Seems like the design pushes on the rubber cap in the coil. Mega, never a bad a taste. Full flavor, actually the best flavor I have ever tasted out of a clearo.

2- The design of the AERO creating a vacuum is not as good as the Mega.

3- The air flow controller. Useless on the Aero. I had to have it open all the way and still not airy enough. Even half way felt like it was open all the way. The Mega's airflow is much better having one large air hole to the side.

4- I have used the same coils on both tanks with much better results on the Mega. The regular Aero does not compare.

By the way, I only use the Protank 3 coils, I don't like the new coils that come with the Mega. They are good when it comes to taste but not better in my opinion. The wick in them also falls apart and starts coming out of the holes in the coils.

Hope this helps you.

I just got a mega today, and I find it about on par with the aero in flavor. Although the airflow control is so much better now.

I would agree with that. The Afc is better and tank looks better. The coils I am not thrilled with at all. Used both new versions of the coils/ the 2.1's suck or I just got a pack of bad ones. The 1.5's seem much better to me at least but still lack.. QC seems to still be an issue with Kanger.. I went back to my Aero tank and just used the new 1.5 coils in it. Seem better to me than the Mega..The AFC on the old aeero works for me so. Never trued the PT3 heads in it. Do they have better flavor than the new heads?..

Thanks. I do like the mini a lot and the afc rocks (though I don't have any comparison) - ordered two spare afc to use on my PT3 minis. I should receive my aerotank "normal" today... I also ordered a spare "normal, old model" afc to use on my PT3 (which really sucks right now). Really hoping the aerotank will be better, because the minis are a bit too... mini :p

I've had two different aerotanks and both of the air flow rings got stuck to the point not even pliers could get them to move. The coils do suck on the mega -- I've got the 2.1s as well. Every time I fire it the ohm's fluctuate anywhere from 2.0-2.3. And I agree with the above statement that Kanger's QC is pretty poor.

Still a good device for a new guy.

Hmm..my experience with the new Megas has been nothing short of extraordinary! I wrote off Kanger after my PT2 refused to stop gurgling and jumped on the Aspire bandwagon...flood free coils and great flavor (when they worked)...but Aspire's inconsistency left me disappointed and vulnerable to the next big thing....and then the Aerotank Mega came about. Flavor is amazing, vapor is kick a** and heads do not last as long as Aspire, but I have found them to be much more consistent. Time will tell however, once the honeymoon phase has worn off if these tanks hold up...
