Hi guys, I'm using 18650 batteries with a mAh of 7800 3.7V and I have absolutely no idea if it's safe to use. Could someone please confirm this for me. Also I have a set that's 18650 and it's 12500mAh I think. Same question.
The maximum capacity for an 18650 battery is typically between 3000 and 3600 mAh. Where did you get these and what brand are they?

Off hand, I’d just say do it. That’s a pretty low ampherage implying they’re old. My personal test is do the batteries lose power just sitting there? They all do but the rate varies massively. If it’s got power in the evening and you leave it overnight and it’s dead in the morning you need new ones. Even if it’s still alive in the morning but the number has dropped a lot it might be time.

Batteries are pretty cheap in the great scheme of things. $5-8 a piece, or double that at a B&M. In fact they’re so cheap that it’s probably time for new ones anyway even if they’re not dangerous. So if $10 just isn’t a significant expense for you just get new ones. And recycle the old ones.

You’ll have to recharge the new ones a lot less. Or if you just want to eke out the last of it (which some just do regardless of financial position) do the test. One thing that is hard about batteries is it’s hard to know exactly when they will start to be unstable. I’m usually willing to let a battery go when it’s only getting 70% of original charge. These are near 50%. Or less.

If I had to guess with just the facts presented, I’d guess “no”, but that is in no way an expert opinion.

It’s slowly been going up. 10 years ago it was more like 2000-3000. The batteries that were stunners in 2015 aren’t all that awesome today. (this is just a factoid addendum because I’m chronically long winded. It’s not a disagreement)

With due respect, show me a reputable 18650 battery with a mAh higher than 4000.

As well, the OP doesn't tell us what watts he vapes at.

Hi guys, I'm using 18650 batteries with a mAh of 7800 3.7V and I have absolutely no idea if it's safe to use. Could someone please confirm this for me. Also I have a set that's 18650 and it's 12500mAh I think. Same question.

Hi noob.vapor. Welcome to the ECF.

There aren't any 7,800mah 18650 Batteries. Let alone 12,500mah. So what you have are some Re-Wrapped Unknows. I Wouldn't recommend using them even in a Flashlight.

What type of e-Cigarette do you want to power? And where do you live?

I can’t. They will probably eventually happen. I was reading the number as 780. I just automatically cut to something reasonable maybe. I didn’t notice how high his numbers were. There was this thing with bizarre lying on rewraps. Might be that. I dunno.

They mention the Drag One, which I believe is the original Drag; a 2x 18650 that goes up to 157w.

So, even if they were referencing both batteries equal 7800mAh, there wouldn't be two batteries that would equal 12,500mAh.

Yeah, there are some Holes in the Information.

Like what you asked Earlier, knowing the Wattage used would be a Big Piece in the Puzzle.

Actually I just happened to run across one. Not at all sure it’s worth the money, and I haven’t verified it

actually I just happened to run across one, though I doubt it’s worth the money. I also don’t know if it’s true. The seller is reputable though. I dunno about the company that makes it. There may be other issues with it too. Doesn’t negate anything from the first response though

The battery above is good but it's only 10A so not that good for vaping at medium to higher wattage. Its mAh rating is correct and will last well between charges but can only be used for low wattage vaping.

mAh is not the worry tho, it's the CDR rating of a battery that you need to be aware of and the OP has not specified what the battery is.

That was the battery I was referencing when I said higher than 4000mAh. But, as @Richard Winter noted, the CDR rating may not be suitable if the OP is using his Drag at higher wattages.

OP must not be that interested in the answers...
Or, we may be too late
