Depends on what you want in a device.

If you want an accurate vv device that is well built the Provari is still a great choice.

Are there comparable devices at a lower cost? Absolutely. Perhaps the best thing about the Provari is the fact that it holds its value better than just about any mod out there. If you ever decide you no longer need or want the Provari ... you will probably get most if your money back out of it.

I know several people have recently sold their Provaris and bought Vamos on this forum. They all got their money's worth out of their Provari. So even if you do decide to get a new device ... your not out any money in the long run.

Here's my opinion, for what it's worth. Some of the newer VV and VW devices coming out of China do a really good job for half the price of a Provari. I own three Provari's, including one that was purchased the first week they came out. Never had a problem with any of them. So if you want a rock solid, proven trouble free device, you can't beat the Provari. Other devices perform just as well but time will tell if they are still working two years later!!!!

I bought a mini for the form factor and the bullet proof build quality. I've seen what $40 got me and it wasn't going to last long in my world! I didn't see where the others where built that much better, other than the SS Zmax, but at that price I was $30 away from a Provari.
I need something built this way because of the way I treat things, not everybody else does.
Some people really need VW, I don't, but they get something with VW.
Figure out your budget, figure out your needs, then go from there. I'm not you, you're not me, so we each need to find what suits our needs.

You can't really go wrong with a Provari if you want a vv device.

I'm not a huge fan of the one button menu system but the interface is better than the Zmax imho.

I was planning on buying a Provari until the Vamo v2 came out. Now I have my eye on an Ihybrid or similar genesis style for a high end mod. After that ... I'm done buying apvs. That's the plan anyways. Lol

Really- it depends on what you like and what features are important to you.

I happen to like bottom feeders and mine is about 2 years old and I use it daily. I've had it about 1 1/2 years and bought it used. Indestructible- throw it in the sink and wash it and a truck could drive over it.

It's not the only pv or APV I own, but for what I like- small, no messing with liquid, it has all of the features I want. Like I said, you have to decide what's important to you.

Well its very evident that they are excellent devices and they are held in such high esteem within the Forum - that says A LOT!

its not so much for the feature set as what the features have going for them.
there is the warranty, the service from provape is unmatched by any other vendor. if you need a repair its just an email away after the 1 year (or 2yr optional) warranty. and should they update something there is no "just buy another one" you send in yours to be upgraded.

the accuset chip inside is patented and will always give you the exact voltage you see on the screen. not 4v= 3.99 or 4.2--- 4v=4v
the circuitry, switch and circuit board are built to MIL-SPEC tolerances and standard..

now to be fair. does it do stuff the vamo cant? no the vamo is a nice apv for the cash, but try to get it fixed should you drop it in the toilet.

the people who have them and love them are never worried today will be the day their cheap mod dies.
it's all preferance and what you want feature wise and are willing to spend.

I love proV and yes im a fanboy but i also believe in personal preferences. if we all wanted the same exact thing vaping wouldnt have so many variables and different accessories.

For Variable Voltage devices the Provari still reigns supreme if it is within your budget.

Some others (that I own) that I feel come after the Provari are:
Sigelei Zmax - Sturdy design and works well (at around half the price of Provari)
eVic - Just got mine in and liking it pretty well so far, no where near as sturdy as the provari but works well!

I just bought my second Provari (mini this time) and have zero buyers remorse. It is absolutely flawless in craftsmanship, form and function. That is if I can keep from droppin' it. My chrome full size has been dropped on concrete half a dozen times but always performed like the day I got it. Some times you do get what you pay for. Read everything, be informed, make your decision and it will be ok.

Here's the thing, and I don't own a provari, it does what it's supposed to a much higher degree of accuracy than pretty much anything else.

Go look at the pbusardo charts for the vamo, the current darling, it's off a bit in voltage from where it is set. The Provari is spot on.

Same thing with the smoktech and sigelei z max's. Everybody knows the eVic's specific limitations.

That's not saying the other's are not good or don't have more features, it's just a matter of the provari doing what it does so well.

The question here is how much money is worth to you?
If you have enough and are willing to pay for a sturdy device that delivers exactly waht you ask from it. Then go for it. Just the customer service by itself is already a selling point for me.
If other devices have more gadgets and can do other stuff like VW, of course, but is up to you to decide waht suits you best.

Quite a few suppliers here (last count around 500), many USA made. Not saying it's not a well made PV, but I keep reading comments from people vaping 2-3 months saying it's the best pv ever made. That's quite a statement.

I think the usa made thing is, more that it's a usa made and QC'd device, not a US company reseller chinese items like lavatubes

I have two USA made PV's sitting sitting on my desk and neither is a Provari.

I'm not saying anything bad about the Provari. If I liked tube mods more, I'd probably get one. I've rarely heard of anyone that had one that wasn't happy with it. I'm just saying if for whatever reason that's not the PV for you, there are tons of options out there.
