Is the Subtank Mini still a good investment?

Tell me you're joking :)) Leaking can be caused by a couple of things, such as not enough wick in the RBA, not tightening down the coils properly... missing o-rings from the coils.. badly wicked factory coil.. (these are the reasons when it leaks through the air-holes), if you're tank leaked on the side.. it simply wasn't tightened enough, the o-rings were out of place or the o-rings were damaged.. Either way you threw away a perfectly fine tank, that could've been easily fixed.. in the worst case scenario you would've have spent a few cents on some o-rings..
I get it, you're busy or something and you don't have time to figure out which of the 2 o-rings needed replacing... but next time at least give it away or something, don't just waste perfectly good stuff please ;) Lots of ppl would've been happy to have it.. heh..

Anyway, yea the Subtank mini is a good investment.

Cheers!
My subtank mini leaked out the airholes as well. It wasn't a seal, it was mouth to lung vaping at 12w with the 70pg/30vg juice I use. Happened with the stock vertical coils with those huge wick holes and the RBA v2 with the huge wick holes designed for higher vg juice. I've ordered the v1 RBA from sweet-Vapes that have the smaller bottom channels to see if that works. As it stands now the subtank mini sits on the counter and my nautilus mini's and kayfun lite V2 get used, since they've never leaked.
I've talked to several people who said their subtank mini's leaked as well, and the forum has reports of it. If you assume people are idiots because you can't see beyond your own experience, then you are ignorant of the facts. Now I get to wink. ;)

Now I like the Kanger Subtank mini and will generally suggest it because of the options you can do with it, buttttt, you have been increasing the air flow and knowing friends of mine who like a lot of air flow quickly outgrew the subtank I don't think I would suggest it for you, because you will outgrow the air fairly quickly.

A friend of mine has been using the crown tank for a bit now (he's a vendor and has had one for testing early on), air flow, threads and heads for it are all top notch according to him, not being a tank person I personally haven't used it.

Not only do you use the Kanger OCC coils and the RBA, but you can use the Kanger ProTank 2 coils and the Aspire BVC "Replacement" coils (NON Nautilus) on the Subtank mini. Love having choices. :)

Just an FYI if you didn't know, but you can also use the protank 3 coils in it

Yes it's a great investment! I've been using mine since July. A few points here.

1. The Stock coils are easily rebuildable, which makes replacing them a thing of the past and dirt cheap, if you do it right they are better than the stock coils...
2. Theres tonnes of cheap replacement parts and compatible aftermarket parts like 3.5ml and 9ml tanks, different color seals/glass etc etc.
3. Big support group, if your having problems just ask around tonnes of people have them..
4. Good vapor production and decent flavor.

It's an all around great tank, I can see myself using it for a long time, I've though about getting a new tank and I ended up getting a new Subtank Mini instead :p

I had a STM, but I out grew it with in a month or so. I got started using my drippers and loved the massive airflow and higher wattage I could run with them. when I went back to the STM it felt anemic in comparison. Now i have a Crown, TFV4 and just picked up the Mutation X MT RTA... I love the massive airflow of all of these, the flavor and vapor is phenomenal. I run them around 75-85 watts with coils of .15 - .25. For me this is my preferred setup. While I agree the STM is a great tank once you learn its quirks, perhaps keep and eye on some of the other tanks as well. there are tanks out there that far outperform the STM. I felt like I wasted my money on the STM since I stopped using it so quickly.

For a 3 years vaper, I think Taifun GT II and subtank mini are the stamp of the matter. If you have one of them you dont look for what is there to change to. Many novelties will be coming surely but the matter is if you need them or not.
I am an old man. I have a claoupor ( 1 year old) and a olax hero (nearly same age) And they too are stamps for the matter (At least for me because I use everything with 7 watts (Which is the lowest of they provide)
One of my mods carry subtank mini and other Taifun GT II. This is the end for me. I enjoy and will change them only when they are out of order.

I LOVE my subtank minis. I am stocking up on a few boxes of coil heads, but the greatest part is the rba unit. I am purchasing extras of those. I can have one ready and built. I build my coils at 1.2 ohms. I'm not a sub-ohmer. I really like the k-box as well. The subox kit as a whole is awesome. Extra o-rings and glass are easily obtained as well. (and the o-rings come in multiple colors, so if you rotate several juices, you can use a different color for each one)
You know the square ones can be recoiled dont you?

its $25 on sale. its a classic. it comes with a LOT of accessories (2 coils, RBA, premade coils for the RBA, kanthal, OJC, replacement glass tube). Coils come in sub-ohm and "sup"-ohm, vertical and horizontal, and is compatible with their new range of coils. It's a performer, and a heck of a deal.

Yes, I do. I am a cheapo. Before I started using the Subtank mini, I used the Protank II. I stocked up on coils the first few times, the rebuilt them exclusively. I would use them up, then rebuild them in big batches. That's why I bought a few packs of OCC coils. I have ~20. I only have a few RBAs, but between them and the OCC coils, I am set. (for the FDA, lol) I just prefer the RDAs, because they are a bit quicker to rebuild. But, I will definitely rebuild the OCCs also. :)

I think the subtank is a great tank for all vapors, it comes with alot of stuff, the rba deck is a nice and easy to build on. Great flavor and cloud producer. I have had zero leaks from both of my stm's, even when laid on its side a few hours I still haven't had a leak.

I am enjoying mine, No leaks, performs well. It bounces around in my jacket pocket, usually ending up on it's side or upside down at times and has never once leaked. The only time I had it leak was when I started unscrewing it from my mod and unscrewed the tank instead of the base because I was distracted. I know some folks have had leaking issues, I have seen it mentioned a bit. I think it still a great tank to get, especially for a first tank to sub-ohm with.
