is their a way to use a cartomizer with out any filling

hello I am stuck with, the e-cig.com's E9 it came with two batteries a long one and a short one. The short one is by far a good quality product, however the long one is harder to draw and heats the atomizer up to were it burns what ever is inside. I would love to just just the short battery, and buy a few more short ones but I am broke.

My question; can I mod my carto to work with this long battery, perhaps by removing the filling or something like that. I spent all my money on this and can't even afford to buy analogs anymore so needless to say while my short bat is charging I'm going cold turkey.

if anyone can help me in anyway I would be eternally grateful.

you could try to wedge out the center post of the carto of the battery connection end.. this way you don't have to screw the carto down as far to make contact with the battery which should give you a looser draw.... another option which is a little tricky... file a little slit on the cartos connector end.. but be careful as not to mess up the threading... this could be done to the battery as well, but you need to be more careful.


this is only a guess since I have never owned an E9 but these are tricks used for other ecigs..

Good morning! BB you could the carto's from here. The D2's are compatible with E9'd. I bought a pach for Greensmoke batteries but the battery end of the carto has slots cut in it and, for me, it's too airy of a draw. Sounds like they MAY work in your case though.

I use cartos without the filler all the time. I use them to drip in. A carto will hold around 10-20 drops of liquid, and it works just as good as dripping in a regular atty. Just use some small tweezers and be careful not to break the center wire in the carto. Make sure you leave the little "sock" around the wire so that it will wick up the liquid.

How do you manage this? I have tried to remove the filler from a carto a couple of times but it seems to be wrapped around the wire and I always end up yanking the wire. I keep thinking this might help with some other issues I've been having but I haven't been able to successfully been able to remove the filler yet.

It isn't a quick process. You have to take your time and work it out little by little. I normally take a long pair of tweezers and scrape down the sides of the carto to loosen any glue that might be in there, then I pull at the filler lightly while wiggling back and forth. Sometimes I can get the whole piece of filler out at once, sometimes I have to pull it out a shred at a time, and then every now and then I totally destroy one. I actually just broke one yesterday. Some of my cartos are packed really tight, some are really loose. Some have large wicking "socks", some barely have any at all, they all work better once the filler is removed though. I also have been using the new CE2's, but with limited success. I got 20 of them just to try them out, but I'm going to wait until they are perfected before I order more.

It took me about 5 seconds with a toothpick.

It was a KR808 cart, don't know if that makes a difference.

ok so I have tried taking out the filler and did to it then I driped the liquid in to the carto it all dripped out on to the batt or back in to my mouth, when I tryed to vape it all I tasted was something burning then I got nothing at all. I'm sure this is possible so many people saying it worked. I am just wondering if I miss understood something, here is exactly what I did

1 I took the carto and slowly worked cloth like filler out, I took all of the filler out
2 I left the plastic straw looking thing that is placed on the wire in
3 When pulling out the fiber I found that the wire was vary long too long to leave extended as it would have been in my mouth so I pushed it back down in the carto making sure not to let it touch the sides.
4 I examined the carto wire to make sure it was still connected at the bottom with a 10x eye loop I use in tattooing.
5 I placed about 5 drops of apple pie 11mg by dripping it on the inside walls of the carto. At this point I saw the liquid coming out the whole in the bottom that is used for air.
6 I wiped the bottom clean and added another drop or two.
7 I put on my crappy batt and puffed lightly I tasted burnt burnt something I would guess the straw or maybe the sides of the carto
8 all the liquid came out of the mouth peice in to my mouth. (man I have a headache now)

So I am not going to throw this carto away just yet, in case its something simple I am doing wrong please anyone that had done this right let me know what I am doing wrong.
