I first experienced vaping a couple years ago. I immediately fell in love with it, though I had many frustrations from bad products and not knowing anything, I scrapped it all and went back to smoking. Started on a KR808 and figured out in one day it was not going to last. Then I ordered a Chuck, waited a month to get it, only to have it die within the first week. I thought it was the switch because it worked at first, then bam nothing. I sent it back about 4 months ago to get fixed, but now Im thinking maybe it wasnt the switch? Bad batteries maybe? I have no idea. Anyway, Im still smoking and hating it more with each day, but wow have things changed!! I seriously need a tutorial! I couldnt tell you a watt from a volt, cartomizers now have ohm ratings, I dont know what that means, dual-coil, tanks, variable voltage, its all Greek to me. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Info Pages ECF Forum were recently updated. That might be a good place to start. Also reading through the New Member forum where most questions have been answered numerous times. You tube is loaded with how to videos if you have the patience to sit through them. Sometimes it is better to see an item than read about it.

Things have change in just the year and a half I have been vaping. I can no longer answer newbie questions on equipment because my experience is so outdated. Main thing is to jump in and get going on something because you'll cut back on smoking and save (not really if you are an equipment junkie) enough to buy your next PV. Don't let finding the perfect PV hold you back, you won't know until to try something. Ask questions here anytime about specifics, people are happy to help.

First question to answer is why you didn't like the KR808s. Too weak, shorter battery life, hated cartos, too much work, too expensive for prefilled cartos, etc. From there you can move toward finding something that will work for you.

So you have the Chuck. With 2 2x CR123A batteries for 6.0V's? To enjoy that voltage I suggest 3.0 Ohm or greater carto/atty's. Not sure what dual coils might work at that voltage, someone more knowledgeable will chime in. Do you have a mulitmeter? They are cheap and IMHO every vaper needs one. You need it to check the ohm's (resistance) of your att/carto and the voltage of the batteries. It's important! You can get a very inexpensive one. There are tutorials or u-tube video's that show that. Search "How to use a digital volt meter" without the quotes. Once you get above 5 posts and it's a quarter past the hour, the rest of the ECF opens up to you. Post meaningful responses or questions to avoid the spam thing. Congrats on your attempt to get away from analogs again. You can do it!

Wow, the answers were right here and I didnt even look. Thanks so much to both of you. Yes indeed things have changed, however for the better.

The battery life is what I hated about the KR808. I liked the idea of cartos, tho they were hot on my lips. So I bought cartridges, and just used the tips on the cartos which solved the heat problem. Wasnt a perfect fit but it worked.

What I used in the Chuck was 18650 batteries. A day and a half between charges yay! Thanks for the info on a meter. Now I just wait till my next paycheck to get supplies. In the meantime Ill be doing some research.
