So I know all about most tanks causing shorts on a SMPL or any mod with out the pin because of the battery to atty contact. My question is this... Are there any rebuildable tanks that have a long enough firing pin to sit on top a SMPL mod? It would make sense because the set up of most rbas as far as positive and negative post seems similar to an RDA. So if assume the firing pin to positive post would be the same as well. Am I wrong to think this?

There really are too many to mention. Doubt any one of us know them all.

Some have protruding pins. Some don't. Some have adjustable pins. It's the same as with RDAs. You just have to look for something you like and figure if that specific one is compatible.

It also depends on the hybrid adapter used. Some are one-piece - just the disc. Some are multi-piece with separate insulator and contact for the 510 pin. (Not sure how a multi piece would fit an SMPL.)

That's what made sense to me. I know the Atlantis doesn't work, but every vape shop says "no tanks only RDAS " and I know some tank or rebuildable tank had to be adjustable. Thank you for the reassurance! I will be working my way into the regulated world soon so Id like to get some practice with building in stuff like that. Or even find a tank that works and has good coil heads that I can just order and leave the building to RDAS

I regularly use the following on my SMPL w/ no problems -

RDA - Kennedy Comp clone, Hobo v 2.1

Tanks - Lemo V1, Kanger subtank nano (haven't had a problem yet, but i make sure to tighten coil coil down BEFORE tightening up the switch)

My pick would be the Lemo. Its pin is adjustable and sticks out plenty far for hybrid use.

The Kayfun & Russan (I think all models) have threaded center pins. So they can be set up for a hybrid.

The previous Kayfuns (not v4) aren't adjustable. Not sure it sticks out far enough. I don't have one anymore. I'm not sure on the Russians.

On the older Kayfuns, loosening it will loosen the positive block.

What are your thoughts on that tank?

I liked it a lot. Found it ran best using lower watts for a build than you would use on say a dripper or another tank due to the chamber your build is in being rather small.
So it will and I have used it on a smpl mech mod but may take a bit of tinkering with builds if you find it too strong with the build you have in it.

What's your vaping style? Any particular features you would like? How comfortable are you with building? Budget?

im comfortable with building and had an Atlantis on a cf sub ohm that I loved so performance like that and Id be satisfied. Just something not crazy to work with and not super expensive
