Is there something I should know?

I want to clean out some cartomizers so I can try some different flavor juices I ordered, (i know, i should have ordered some empty ones....I just wasn't thinking that far ahead!)
Anyway, I remember reading on here somewhere that all I need to do is run hot water thru them or put them in a pan of boiling water or something. I don't remember if they were talking about cartridges or cartomizers. Can someone tell me what I should do?

finding an answer can sometimes be a daunting task at this site, with that said..I read, and successfully cleaned out my cartomizers. I rinsed in hot water, blow out, then rinse-blow, until you cant smell any of the flavor anymore. I blew out all/most of the water and was able to refill with liquid right away. On another occasion I did rinse repeatedly, then soaked in everclear, that was to get rid of original flavor and that worked better. I didnt soak them very long, was really anxious to try new flavors, and they were very good no lingering flavors. Hope this helps Good Luck

Not to change the topic, but I just thought of this and wanted to ask. Since vaping, I have noticed that my lips feel, well, sore. Not exactly like chapped, but close maybe. I was told yesterday to drink lots of water since I am new to vaping as vaping can dry you up. Could it be that or maybe this is one of the unpleasant experiences of PG?

yeah rinsing using hot water is about the best you can do... of course I wouldn't really do this too often MPO... you will find in time you will have enough carts and flavors that ou don't need to use one carto to death before trying another

Also... it never hurts to top off a cart with a different flavor if they complement each other

for example peanut butter and chocolate

Mine did that also and after about a week I do not notice it at all. I bought some chap stick to get by. I rinse with water then blow it out and all has gone great for me. I use the VK Cartos as well. Also the PTB is Pyramid Tea Bags and I am not sure on blue foam, but I think those are just for other model carts not cartos.

PTB and blue foam are mods used for the carts of 3-piece designs, not cartomizers.

To answer your original question, use the hot water rinse and blow as suggested above. That usually works for a relatively new cartomizer. Some flavors will persist longer than others, though.

ahhh Justin, you must read until the weeee hours of the morning to get all the answers, for weeks and weeks <sigh> But, I thought you were asking about cartomizers, and that is what I rinsed and refilled. The ptb (pyramid tea bag), and blue plug thing are for cartridges (which has a whole section)..try to find one answer over there..i dare ya!!
My lips feel a little "chapped" also, and I believe it is because I get liquid on them, and call me crazy but I really like the taste. I have refrained from drinking directly from the bottle lol

You are right, I was asking about cartomizers. The ptb/blue foam stuff came as a suggestion from someone here. Glad you cleared that up for me. I can only see myself now tring to shove tea bags into my cartos!

Vaping can leave your mouth dry, I find that when i vape I always have something to drink nearby. Regarding the sore lips problem, the only thing that I can even think of is that you are drawing pretty hard. Usually if you are having a reaction to the liquid you will break out or something. I have never had this problem so can only take a guess as to what the problem might be. I do have 2 cartomizers but have never experienced sore lips from them, but I do notice that the draw on them is harder that my other pv's and mods.

I have never cleaned out a cartomizer, I just get blanks so I cannot help you in that matter. I am not sure if the filler comes out so you can wash it out perhaps I will try it tonight and see if it comes out.

It does not it will tear out the built in atty if you try.

I really like the cartomizers, I use them on my 901 with an adapter. I have been refilling mine for couple weeks now, I guess its time to move on to some new ones, but they really do taste fine after I rinse and refill. Have been using the new silicone plug on my 901 cartridges tho so been using those also.

btw, I was able to trim down one of the whistle tips of my 901 cartidge, and it fits right into my cartomizer..I like the feel of the whistle tip better and its easier to refill.
