I am wondering if there is a central data point, clearinghouse, consensus, or general agreement that the community has come up with that I seem to have missed along the way.

I am chasing the concept of "everyone should try these 10 e liquids" or something along those lines.

Not necessarily the best, tastiest, cleanest, or even best for the money,

more like the one or two specific flavors that exemplify their category, or somesuch designation.

There are juices that everyone seems to know and be familiar with, and then there are some that only a few seem to know, but they're devoted to. There are some that I thought would be ubiquitous, but get no mention (or hardly any), etc.

I would welcome some brainstorming on trying to come up with a definitive list of "everyone vaper would do themselves a service to try with an open mind, and form an opinion of these x liquids" where x is a reasonable number, with little overlap between them.

At this point, even categorizing flavors would be beyond me - I could give a crack at it, but every time I do, I end up with too many super specialized sub categories...

That's what I'm talking about, though. Different tastes are cited so many times as reason not to do something like this. Often, you'll hear people say something akin to "I don't like fruity flavors" but what they really mean is "I don't like the candy/perfume combination that came in the two so called fruit flavors I've tried".

So many new vapers start by looking for a tobacco that emulates their old ciggy brand. Many come away disappointed in the lack of satisfying tobacco flavors. However, that's also often after only a few tries. Heck, even if they've tried a dozen, if half of those are Chinese production tobacco liquids, that leaves half a dozen, to try and discover what may well be out there.

I had once some MBV bananas foster. I shared some with a friend. She said two things. First, wow, that tastes like bandannas. Two, I don't like bananas. Ok, this juice isn't for her, but it's an accurate portrayal of the flavor described. That counts for something.

The problem with creating a "must try" list is it always ends up getting skewed in the end by those who are loyal to one particular company. And, as it's already been mentioned, taste is subjective. There are flavors that I could not do without, yet others I could care less about.

It's also one of the biggest reasons why I got into DIY. I buy the flavorings I like, and make the juice to my taste, not someone elses.
