Is this normal? I hate regular cigs after one day

The first night I got my ecig, I never even thought about an Analog.
It wasn't until later when I was around a smoker that I actually realized "Wow, this thing actually works." lol.
I was just so happy to have a better way to smoke.

But, I did take a drag of an Analog a few days after vaping, mainly out of curiosity because I couldn't remember what the throat Hit from an analog felt like, It's not something I ever thought about when I smoked.

But, that one drag was so horrible I didn't even pay attention to the throat hit, I wasn't ready for just how Disgusting it was. Which I still find wierd when I think of how much I smoked.

Hello all, my first post here...

After one evening of vapin' on my revolver, it was clear that nothing could compare to the "cleanliness" and taste of the vapor. I smoked an analog the next day and could not believe how horrid it tasted!

what a blessing to enjoy some freedom from those dag-blasted analogs!:thumb:

From the very first vape, I've been vaping only. No analogs, despite being surrounded by packs and packs of 'em (since hubby still smokes). I haven't craved them at all or even considered lighting one up, I've been so satisfied with my PV. And, I did not start vaping in order to "quit smoking," but simply as a way to enjoy some puffs in situations where I couldn't smoke. Who knew I'd become an accidental non-smoker? Not me!

A bit of history first, I love smoking. I hate the smell, the cost and the health effects. But I've always loved smoking. I quit for two years without cheating once (until i unquit of course) and second hand smoke still made me drool a little. Stale cigarette smoke has always been gross. My first cigarette tasted like absolute heaven when I picked them back up again due to stress.

I think vaping changed my tastes. In less than a week of vaping second hand smoke is slightly nauseating (my boyfriend still smokes) and when I tried one it tasted dreadful. I have absolutely no urge for an analog, even living with a smoker. And yes he still has me stand outside with him while he smokes and I vape, poor guy gets lonely now that his smoke break honey has stopped. I hope I subliminally convert him, but I know it won't happen until HE is ready for it.

I started hating my Camel lights the day I ordered my first ecig. I sat and smoked them for 3 more days until my dse 901 arrived. I got home and luckily the batteries were already charged by puresmoker. I assembled my 901 took a puff and put my camels in a drawer.

3 weeks later they were still sitting in the drawer untouched and I gave them away.

Since then the only tobacco product I have smoked was a thin cigar while drinking some scotch.
That was a year ago

I have quit smoking several times in my life. When I would go back to cigs (no matter how long I had quit) that first one would be head rushy and taste pretty bad... but only that first one. After that it was just umm..normal.

With vaping it has been different. I had gone one week without an analog and then ran out of juice before my next shipment arrived. So.. I started smoking again while waiting for my juice. Not only was the first cig disgusting.. but all of them were. I smoked 3 packs in those 2 days. It tasted like licking an ashtray every time. I could feel the tar or whatever coating my tongue.

I don't understand why it is so different. I can't believe that I got *that* used to vaping that quickly. I smoked 2 packs a day for 30 years. Weird.

Needless to say... I will keep myself stocked up from now on.

what mg e-liquid are you smoking? 24-26? or 36mg?

right now all i have are 18mg... and i would have to puff continuously to get that nicotine feeling... if you're smoking a few puffs and putting it down right away you must be smoking something heavier right?

i need to get something heavier too so i can use it at work during breaks instead of standing there for 30minutes lol

Like a lot of others, apparently, same story. Haven't had an analog since the V4L kit arrived. I'm equally amazed!

I also only take a puff or two at a time, then put the e-cig down. Rather than smoking an entire 100mm analog.

I too instantly preferred vaping over smoking. No effort, no withdrawal, and it's fascinating how vaping "breaks up" the smoking habit.

It becomes much more "conscious" in all its behavioral components than simply buying a pack of tobacco and lighting up.

The "habit" is undermined from day one. The nicotine addiction continues to be satisfied without the tars, 4000 carcinogens, etc. The manual and oral satisfactions and visual "smoke" elements are equally satisfied.

But there's the recharging, the carrying cases, the cartomizers, the refilling, the flavors, the nicotine strengths -- it's really like you suddenly have POWER and CHOICE over the habit that you didn't have before.

Everybody's different. Personally, I can't say enough, positively, about e-cigs.

Good luck, Vapers!

I can't believe this is normal. I got an ecig about a day and a half ago. After a day with NO "real" smokes I can't STAND smoking a real cigarette. I am a fairly heavy smoker but after a day I realize that my addiction was mostly psychological. With an ecig I only take a few drags and put it away. With "real' smokes I would smoke the whole thing.

After one day I had no urge to smoke a real cigarette. For an experiment I lit one up... and it tasted AWFUL. It was terrible compared to the non smelly lightly sweet taste of an ecig.

The other thing that I am looking forward to is no ash trays, no lighters or matches to worry about. No worrying about dropped ashes. No worries about having to go outside in the winter to smoke etc etc etc. No smell of smoke on my clothes.

Wow. Surprising.... I mean that it worked so well so soon.

After seven months, I still don't find analogs disgusting, but I do far prefer to vape. It's simply more enjoyable for all the reasons you mention, and more, both subjective and objective. The only analogs I've smoked in the last seven months were:

1) Two analogs in two months ago, for reasons of curiosity (I wanted to revisit the experience in order to compare it with the experience of vaping).

2) About six or seven analogs one month ago, bummed off a fellow party-goer, for reasons of laziness (or should I also add, stupidity -- I had more liquid out in the car, but wanted to stay there out on the patio with friends and keep up with the flow of conversation etc., so, "Hey, can I get one of those off you" and several minutes later, "Would you mind if I ask you for another?" The real point is that I actually enjoyed them, and what's another six or seven more cigs in my life, right?).

Anyway, to directly answer your thread title, I don't know if it's normal, but it seems good.

And as far as I'm concerned, good is better than normal by several magnitudes.

Now, isn't that a good point!

I actually hadn't thought of it from that perspective. The one negative of vaping compared to smoking was the whole rigamarole of refilling, recharging, etc., but you've just expressed all that as a positive.

Thanks!

I'd say it's normal, considering it smells worse to me and I only knew about e-cigs for 2 days and my kit is still on the way to my mailbox lol.. just reading how everyone loves vaping, and how much cleaner and safer it is. All I notice is how the smell of cigarettes linger on me and how now that will be gone lol

I haven't bought my first vaping device yet, but I CAN say this:
When I tried to quit smoking cigs (analogs), I made it two weeks. The first
cig I fired up tasted like .... I hated it. The need for nicotine, however,
won over.

Yeah, I tried to quit once and when I started again I could really tase the chemicals.

Was a pack a day smoker of Marlboro Reds for last 9 years. Got my Joye 510 starter kit with some extra e-juice on October 22nd here a few weeks ago. Tried one cigarette about a week after I started with my e-cig and didn't finish it, it tasted terrible. As of now I have zero desire to ever try another real cig again. It's almost like feeling in the twilight zone or something, every once in awhile I wonder when this "dream" will be over, but then I realize it's no dream.

To all of you out there that have ordered your kits and are waiting for them to arrive, or still smoke analogs and are researching e-cigs here, just know that they are the real deal. At least for me, switching to my e-cig was quitting real cigarettes 100% without actually "quitting." Truly effortless. I realize a lot of people who have gone to e-cigs still smoke or did smoke analogs for awhile, whether it be 2 per day or 5 per day (or whatever). There's also a ton of people that have got their kit, started on their e-cig, and have been DONE with cigarettes period. The length of time you have been a smoker, what you smoke, etc...seems to have little bearing if any on the "success" rate fully transitioning to e-cigs. E-cigs aren't some new-agey supposed magic tonic that only works on say 5% of the test subjects by way of the placebo effect. All I know is that I was hopelessly addicted to Marlboro Reds in every way (like most every smoker), and just up and quit painlessly. I know im ranting and making a speech here but it's the truth. To be honest, the fact that I no longer smoke is ......n ridiculous.

Crazy rant over. :)

My turn to chime in here:
My experience was similar. I still smoke 1-3 ....-logs a day but every time i do, I despise it! I am trying to convert all my friends over to vaping and have been successful with a couple. I want them to have the same great experience from vaping that I get. I love the varity and selection and now I never have to run to the store in the middle of the game to get a new pack (cuz i forgot to stop and spend $5 earlier)...

Now I hate the taste. I hate the smell. I hate the ash tray and how it looks. Very soon I will be done with ....-logs forever!!!

BTW congrats to you!!!
