I started smoking when I was 13.
By 17 I was up to about 20 a day, and I kept that up until I was 32 (present day).

For the last few years I have been trying to stop smoking...It seems like every week I was saying to people:-
"I have to stop smoking now...I can feel them damaging my health..."
...But I never could.

I tried everything to stop smoking (patches, gum etc); but NOTHING worked for me....In fact I was so addicted that I couldnt get through one whole day without a cigarette...Even going an hour was a nightmare.

So it seemed impossible that I would ever stop smoking.

A few month ago I got an e cigarette from amazon...It was inexpensive (about £6)...Called a 'Marloboro High'.
...I started using it...
...I kept smoking my regular 'ciggies' along with it...But soon enough I realized that I wasnt really needing a 'real' ciggarette anymore...My cravings were satisfied with the 'e-cig'.

Alternating that first day between the e-cig and regular cigarettes I soon noticed something.........I 'preferred' the e-cig.

At the end of that first day with my e-cig, I had smoked only TWO 'real' cigarettes...
...My lungs felt better already.

The day after I had NO cigarettes at all...I just puffed on my e cig when I needed a 'fix'!
...I even puffed it on the bus on the way home!
For the first time EVER I could smoke in my parent's 'smoke-free' house!
...I even had a fly puff in the que in the post office!
I wasn't stinking of smoke anymore and was enjoying my strawberry (and other flavoured) e-cigs very much!
THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING!

However...After a few weeks on the e-cig I quit that as well.
I miss the e-cig in a way....Not as a 'smoke'...But more as an 'old friend'! However I saw my chance to stop smoking anything altogether and I took it!
...The 'e-cig' was SO much easier to quit than regular cigarettes.

I don't feel the need for nicotine at all anymore and as a smoker for many years who was unable to stop I HIGHLY, personally recommed electronic cigarettes because although they satisfied my craving for nicotine I never had a bad cough, sinus and all the other problems that come with smoking regular ciggarettes.

Best of luck everyone! And if you haven't tried an 'e-cig' you should consider it!

Anyway I just wanted to come in and say how great e cigs are...And also to laugh because more and more people are turning towards them...the FDA has more or less been 'forced' to endorse them...(Oddly enough as a 'tobacco' product; though e-cigs don't have any tobacco)....(SHRUGS)....
...So...It won't be long until e cigs (now that they are regulated) will probably cost just as much or MORE than regular cigarettes.

GET THEM CHEAP WHILE YOU CAN AND STOP SMOKING!

The decision in the same lawsuit that prohibits the FDA from regulating e-cigs as drugs and delivery devices stated that any product derived from tobacco can be regulated as a tobacco product. Where do you think they get the nicotine?

It's not the FDA regulation that jacked up the price of analogs, it's the states taxing the crap out of them.

Thats roughly how I first started, but had no intention of quiting, just to cut down initially if at all possible? then found I much prefered the e-cig, so am now totally rollie free! lung capacity of 275 (peakflow meter) when I was smoking and was a respectable 550 3 months on! maybe....just maybe, I'll wean the e-cigs off and sell all my stuff, should have enough to retire on then lol. Good luck to you dash, just watch ur waistline lol

Sorry you have lost me...E cigs aren't a tobacco containing product...They don't have any tobacco in them. Therefore should not be called a 'tobacco containing product'. You can 'derive' cyanide from apples, but no-one goes around banning apples or calling them a 'cyanide containing product'.

No-one said it wasnt!
I said '..It won't be long until e cigs (now that they are regulated) will probably cost just as much or MORE than regular cigarettes"
I didn't say who or what would charge for them.

Are you just here looking for an argument or somthing?
