Hello everyone

Im new to e-cigs. I have been using them for about a week and half now. I used to smoke a pack - 1.5 packs a day and almost instantly was able to drop down to 2-5 per day. Today I'm trying to go without any, and struggling a bit, but hopefully I can keep away from the cigarettes.

Within the first couple of days I pretty much lost the morning cough. I'm extremely pleased with that. The cough throughout the day are still there but nowhere near what they were two weeks ago. Its safe to say I can already see the benefits of switching to the e-cig in that regard.

That being said, I'm experiencing a couple things and I'm not sure if they are normal or not. The first being constipation or extreme difficulty with bowel movements and painful cramping. Is this normal?

The second thing is for the past 3-4 days I've been waking up in the morning drenched with sweat. The room temperature has not changed at all for what its always been at night.

I am also dealing with the dry mouth thing most discuss, drinking lots of water but it doesn't seem to do anything for it. Stuffy / dry sinuses too.

Thanks for any insight you can give!

P.S.
Im going to purchase an ego. what company is the quickest delivery (prefer from inside the US) and has a reasonable cost?

I'm by no means an expert here, but is it possible that those symptoms are due to you tweaking your nicotine levels in switching to e-cigs? Maybe not enough to make you feel all-out withdrawal, but enough that your body's having to cope with a change in quantity/absorption level?

Not sure as well if the striking lack of the other chemicals in cigs could have that effect (even though they're bad for you, your body adjusts to certain things).

And yeah, I agree on the PG possibility, too. Some people are sensitive to it.

I do know that the first couple of weeks my body went through LOTS of changes...trying to get rid of all the toxins that had been stored up there for years. Constipation...hmmm....I experienced just the opposite for a few days. The night sweats, didn't notice. But I'm at the age where that happens anyway....don't know what to blame on the e-cigs and what to blame on Mother Nature. Dry mouth....yes. Drink MORE water. I think ride the changes out for a little while....there will be changes. I do notice that I drink more water (and want more water) than ever. But I consider that a good thing. I think we need more water to flush out our toxins. So....I have read back over this and see that I'm basically no help at all. lol. I just know that whatever my body went through at first, it has recovered from. I haven't felt this good in years and years. I can breathe, the weirdness that I noticed at first has settled down. I do still carry water with me.....but, again, I think that's a good thing. Our bodies are mostly made of water....can't hurt to drink more water than I used to.

One more thing....I prefer more VG than PG so all of my juices are about 30PG/70VG. So....don't know about being allergic or whatever to the PG.

I think lots of folks experience some effects of vaping when they get started. I think some of it might have to do with detoxing from real cigs. But I am no doctor, so if your problems don't go away you should contact your doctor and let him know what you are doing. But the drinking water advice is still good IMO, even if you are already doing it. Vaping will dry you up.

I went through a cold/flu about 3-5 days within switching. It never got to bad, but a runny nose and some other small symptoms occurred. My face also was more oily around my hair line.

I'll take that week of lousiness anytime because I lost the mucus in the morning. The smell of smoke is gone from me and I'm feeling better then ever. I actually realized today that I'm not hacking up mucus. I have no idea when it stopped, but it's awesome that's it's over.

Oh...on the eGo....I order one from Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and it was here within 3 days. I hear great things about the everywhere on this forum. You can't go wrong with them. $69.00 for a two full eGo set. I got the pink ones and they're soooo cool. And....they donate a bit of the price to the breast cancer fight.

I noticed headaches for the first week or so. I also realized I was vaping more then I used to smoke. Being a new vaper I ordered juices with high nic (24mg) thinking I was going to go into withdraws. I found that was way too much and I think the headaches and other symptoms were from too much nicotine. You may want to lower your mg levels. <--Not a doctor.

On the Ego/Riva I have both and like the Riva a lot more you can get it here for $49 and in US.
The Riva : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

I also have had many of the same symptoms, everyone is right more water, salads and fiber. I seem to be getting over that now so just keep at it, it all gets better.

Having not received my kit yet, I can't comment on the side effects of vaping; however, I can comment very well on quitting analogs. I only quit once, for 3 months, cold turkey, two years ago. One of the worst experiences of my life!!!
I felt like I was going to pass out most of the time because pure air was actually decontaminating my lungs for the first two weeks. I woke up in the middle of the night in cold sweats, I was constantly on edge. It was a god-awful experience. I'll admit it, I am an addict, but I think psychologically it's needing the comfort of a cigarette in my hand, that's what I missed, but the first week was pure hell!
I thought to myself, "I am never doing this again, once I'm over this I'm never touching another cigarette." Three months later I was going through extreme stress and again I started smoking and haven't even tried to quit since, and I smoke much more now. I'm so sick of it, but I don't want to go through withdrawl like that ever again. That's why I'm so excited about getting my kit, vaping seems much more enjoyable than smoking and much less painless than kicking the habit without anything.

I smoked 2 plus packs a day for 15 16 years, and the switch from cigs to ecigs was almost seamless for me. About 1 1/2 to 2 weeks and I was done with analogs. Here soon I'll be 300 days without smoking. You are going to have a completely different experience quitting this time my friend.
