I really enjoy finding out new things about vaping, asking questions, searching the forums, creating posts, researching, watching reviews, buying new gear, staying up until 3:15am checking out the scene!

Maybe we are a little obsessed, maybe it's NOT normal... But who cares...WE ARE SMOKE FREE!!!!!!!!

It's normal. The first thing I do when I get online is check this website. And often times I end up reading for hours. The more educated you are on the topic, the more successful you will be. That's how I see it anyway.
I completely agree! I find myself on this forum more than Facebook. I spend countless hours on here vaping and lurking threads to learn as much as I can. But I'm learning a lot and healing from all the damage I did to myself during the 16 years I smoked analogs.

I spent a ton of time researching my firs ecig..hours and hours and hours..and that was just for a safecig. I now vape a Young June Vari Tube. I spent TONS of time on the internet..obsessing :) My latest purchase is due to a friend who recommended the Vari Tube. Excellent purchase.

Ok..and this doesn't even count the hours and hours of time I've spent researching my first clearomizer..and the hours I've spent learning about batteries now that I have a Vari Tube..oh and all the time I spent researching a good charger for my new batteries. Oh..and all the hours and hours I spent checking out DIY juice. I gave up on it..I can get by if I need to..I know what to do but my creations just aren't as tasty.

I used to watch every single ecig related review I could watch on YouTube and I learned a lot. My latest breakthrough in ecgi knowledge is..don't anyone laugh..it takes a bit for things to sink in with me..I recently learned the definition of a mechanical mod...so that's what kicks are and what they are used with DUH!!!! *light bulb* finally goes off over my head. Mechanical mods don't have a temperature adjuster (a way to change voltage)..simple basic..no wires but no temperature adjuster. That's what the kick provides. And yes..I know it's watts not voltage..*beam*

I'm still basking in the glow of achieving such vast knowledge...well for me anyway :)

I still spend hours and hours on eciggs..watching reviews. Although I have pruned that back a bit depending on the subject..There is no way that I am going to spend 30 minutes watching a video about a $150.00 rebuildable atomizer..ain't gonna happen. I have seen enough rebuildable atomizers in the past to have a general idea of the types and what is involved. I know what they are and that is something I don't want to spend time on. For me I prefer cleaning and dry burning $3.00 vivi novas :)

But I do check out all the titles of the videos..and try to stay current on new products. That still involves a ton of time. I'm not into tinkering and fiddling..just give me something that works..but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in knowing what is out there..it's amazing how far ecigs have come in just the last year. Soooo thankful for clearomizers that actually work now..that are dependable and inexpensive and have replaceable parts. Perfect for me. I am very open to purchasing a new ecig..there are few that caught my attention..but here we go again with the research..do I really need variable wattage? What is in it for me? I'm really enjoying the oed screens..or whatever they are called..that can show an s or an m like regular writing..but they all seem to have some odd quirks to them. I'm so happy with my vari tube..I'm more than willing to wait until they are improved. More research! It never ends :) I'm enjoying every minute of it.

Is all that normal?? Well..maybe not..but I was the idiot who decided to start smoking in the first place. Because of my stupidity life has changed forever. Now I'm the very thankful humble idiot who has found a way out of the cigg trap and I'm on the road to to a better life in spite of that stupid decision to start smoking and keep smoking for over 30 years. I am so appreciative of this website and all the reviewers out there who have provided such valuable information to keep me off the ciggs. My family and friends thank you all too!

Have to keep trying everything in case that it is better than what I already have. So far in my purchasing mods is some are big and some are small and i need them all. /jk But i do want to try everything so the next mods will be variable voltage. I do save lots by making my own juice.I don't mind the money spent because vaping for me is an alternative to smoking not a way to stop my nicotine consumption :)

vape on!

Im thinking that it's very normal. I'm obsessed and I live with two other vapers who are both obsessed too. Not a day goes by without one of us having an "AHA" moment about vaping - whether it's a new flavor, new delivery system, new drip tip, new mod, new video, new website, new show... You get the drift?

We spend way more money on vaping than we did on cigarettes. Then again, we live within 20 miles of a Native American Reservation, so smokes were 20 bucks a carton. If we were buying NYS stamped cigs, we would have been spending about 100 bucks a carton. So, MY justification is that we would have been spending 200.00 bucks a week on smokes - not that we were. How's that for justification? LOL

But seriously. We don't drink, we don't smoke. We vape, that is all. We've also cut our "out to dinner" nights down by half, which has resulted in a 10lb weight loss for me. I'm SO not complaining. It wasn't a decision that we made, it just sort of happened. That's at least 60 bucks a week that we use toward vaping.

The good thing is that if we ever get into a financial jam, we have enough supplies that we could vape happily for awhile without worrying about sinking more money into it.

Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to ask.. Is it normal to be obsessed with all things vapor?

I'd say based on the number of people who frequent these forums, yes, normal, lol. Over time you'll build up a collection of ecigs and parts while continuing to learn something new every time you visit this addictive place. It's fun and so much better than smoking analogs so enjoy the obsession! ;)

It's normal to spend more at the beginning, just like with any hobby (you should've seen my first couple of skate gear invoices...). I keep a spreadsheet that calculates how much I would've spent on smokes up to today and how much I've spent on vaping, and between the two I have a "break even" date. After that day, as long as I spend less on vaping than smoking, I'm doing ok. And even if I didn't, I'm spending less on vaping that I would on the doctor visits, medical tests, and hospital stays that would almost certainly result from continuing smoking, right?
