I got my order from madvapes of extra batterys and a new charger yesterday that was a joke.

As you can see the batterys do not even fit the new charger they sent with. I called and the sales lady told me that I just need to add some pennys on top of the batterys.

I told her that was not acceptable and she said that they would send me some diffrent batterys in the mail and a return label for me to return the wrong ones. OK

Just for grins I was going to try and charge them in the charger that came with my Maxi rough stack v2 and seen that they were even smaller than the ones that came with my pv.

I did some research before I made my MRSv2 from madvapes and found a video on youtube and the guy that did the review said that the batterys fit snug in the body and said that they fit perfect.

As you can see mine did not but it vapes. So I was curious if this is the norm for them and if so is there any more companys around that would have better sales service than to tell me to shim the batterys with pennys? Even if i had taken the batterys they are to short for my unit. I was thinking from my first order two weeks or so ago that this was going to be the place for me to shop but now I dont think so.

Mods by nature may be a little eccentric in nature. Batteries should fit the charger that is sold with them, and if extra parts are needed it should be made obvious before the sale. The wide variety of batteries, chargers and mods out there mean that there are going to be instances where part A doesn't match part B, however. eGos are standardized. Mods are not.

According to MadVapes' description of the MRSv2:

You can use an 18650 for 3.7 volt vaping, 2 16340 3 volt batteries for 6 volt vaping or two 3.7 volt 16340's for 7.4 volt vaping..

...and their description of the TR-001 charger:

Works with most any cylindrical Li-Ion 3.7 volt batteries: 18650, 18500, 18350,17670, 16340, 14650, 14500, 14430, 10440. (15270 and 14250 require a spacer. We use 3 dimes).

...yes, it's normal.

All batteries and chargers are not created equal. It's always best to read, re-read, and fully understand all the product details before any purchase. We've all been there; I know I have.

Thank all of you for your honest responces.
but a couple responces as far as the blue battery that I was holding in pic is what shipped with unit and they are the ones in the tube so they send me the green ones that arent close.
This was my first "MOD" purchase so I am sure that my next purchase will be more informed.
But now that I have something to start with I can go further with it with the wise people in just this GREAT fourm and some diggin thru my own jiggin mind.lol
It would be nice if I ask you a question about something I may buy from any one in the future that I get HONEST "Hey the batterys that come with it are the wrong size but,It workes."
Sorry to sound pissy ,was not ment to sound that way just to know if this is prevalant in the Ecig sector.Or is this the right way to do things.
But I must say also that she said battterys that will work are in the mail .

No problem now I am more informed now on to the best thing since my 3rd wife left me.

It is normal for any vendor to send you what you ordered, since they assume you know what you are doing. Unless this is a bundle or something... YOU PICK from the site, they ship. So, I'm not sure how to respond to this... Those are common chargers (I have one, or a similar model) and there are spacers for those short batteries available.

Sorry about your problems... if 3 dimes/pennies aren't cool, spacers aren't cool.... ok, get different batteries. They're sending you different batteries and a return label. What is it that you think they did wrong, exactly? I'm confused.

P.S. I'm not a super-fan-boy, but I do like and support MV and have ordered from them many times without any major issues. So, go ahead and order from them again if you wish. I don't see the issue.

Oh, and to be fair to you... it's the whole e-cig thing that is a bit confusing and has a learning curve, particularly with mods.

As I state dit was my first MOD bundle purchase and when I ordered I asked plainly as I could, If there is any thing I missed or any thing I need or should know because I am new to this e-cig thing? I will take that this time only because I am a noob but....I think that if shims were needed to charge the batterys I should have been told when I ordered.

Also 3 dimes or spacers are not cool with me because I will pay for something that will fit with out them. I Will learn battery sizes today and the next order I will get what I ask for or order from some where else. This was a phone order, she told me they fit and they did not. I do understand that I have a MOD and will do better on my next purchases. I really do like the e-cig thing and it is helping me so if I offended any one with this thread am truly sorry, I am really thankfull for all responces and have learned a lot in just a shorttime with every ones help.

I am not going to hold it aginst MAD VAPES, Lord knows from what I have seen on the net that they have some really cheap prices on some or most of the item they sell.

Any way I really did not want to come across as a complete ... over this post but wanted to know if its normal and now I know it is a buyer beware kind of thing with out knowing any thing.

Thanks again for your honest responces.

I agree, if you went to the trouble to call and ask before you ordered, and it was still wrong... not a great cs example. Sounds like they are trying to make it right. Hope you don't have to pay shipping. And yeah, it is a bit buyer-beware in this industry. Normally MV has great reviews and they do their best.

If it helps, the battery sizes and numbers are related (still won't tell you what the charger will do). But as an FYI/tip...
a 14500 is 14 mm diameter, 50 mm long, and 18650 is 18 mm dia, 65 mm.. etc.

Hope you get it worked out and enjoy the mod.

Your picture shows a 15266 3.0V battery the TR-001 charger (4.2 volt, 500ma output) is for 3.7V batteries, NOT interchangeable, without dire results. Size is not the only consideration for chargers.

MadVapes is a top notch vendor that caters to many mod builders that may buy batteries and chargers for a wide variety of wild and wacky mods they may have built. Said mods may or may not use the same batteries and or chargers, buying mis-matched batteries and chargers on the same order is not uncommon for many of their customers.

Holy crap... I didn't even see that (was a small pic... didn't click on it). Good catch Stosh!!!!!... DON"T CHARGE THEM IN THAT CHARGER (just repeating to be safe). Usually there's a list on the back of the charger............

How is it "they came with the charger"?
but a couple responces as far as the blue battery that I was holding in pic is what shipped with unit and they are the ones in the tube so they send me the green ones that arent close.

Are they shipping combo battery charger/batteries? Usually you order them separately. If they are shipping a combo, and they are the 3.0 volt ones, we should send them an e-mail....like Stosh said: could have dire results.

I had kinda the same problem when I ordered batteries from them. I ordered the correct sized batteries for my infinity and when I got them they were at least 1/2 an inch longer then the ones I have already. Needless to say they didn't fit. When I contacted customer service they said that I must not know what size battery my mod takes. Really!?! After 5 emails and some not so nice replies from them I took and emailed pictures. They finally replaced them. But why couldn't they have just said "Sorry we sent you the wrong batteries, send them back and we'll send out the right ones." Why did it have to be so stressful to exchange batteries? It left a really bad taste in my mouth, if you know what I mean. It's the only bad experience I have ever had from a vender here, guess I caught them on a bad day. :(

I only see 1 charger that is sold with batteries in a bundle ... it is described as "Haoba rcr123a 3 volt Battery Kit". It is not the TR-001. Did you order them separately or is there a bundle that I missed? Only asking since if they are bundling with that charger, they should know about this so someone else doesn't plug the 3.0 volt batts into it.

Also, maybe they didn't ship you the wrong batteries, but the wrong charger??? Were you after 6.0 volt vaping (maybe with a spacer in the MRS)? Did you purchase the Haoba rcr123a 3 volt bundle?

To be a little clearer, The charger and little green battery's I have in my picture are the one that came with my second order from madvapes. The blue battery's 123a came with a separate charger in the bundle I bought. That is why I was a tiny bit miffed, just wanted two more 123a battery's and not another charger. I think it is working out by them sending me two 18350's to replace the small green battery's. But sure as the world is round I am going to like vaping at the higher voltage and have to order two more 18350's, a few more cartos and some Dekang USA 24nic juice.

And thanks for informing me that I was about to blow my fingers off if I had tried to charge the 123a battery's in the charger that they sent with the green battery's. lol

I am looking at both of those batteries in that picture. Both of those batteries are 3.0 batteries !

15266 1000mAh 3.oV
123a 3V 1250 mAh

Do not use either of these batteries in that TR-001 charger !

From the site:
Flexible battery configuations give you a variety of voltage choices. You can use an 18650 for 3.7 volt vaping, 2 16340 3 volt batteries for 6 volt vaping or two 3.7 volt 16340's for 7.4 volt vaping..
